Riding On Fire -

The Noise Years 1997-2004
Boxed Set

Iron Savior are a heavy metal band from Germany formed in 1996 by vocalist/guitarist Piet Sielck, releasing their self titled debut album in 1997. In a career spanning over twenty five years, Iron Savior have released a total of twelve studio albums, two E.P.'s, numerous singles and one live opus - 'Live At The Final Frontier' (2015). The bands thirteenth album 'Firestar' is due for release in autumn 2023...

...but it's back to the early part of Iron Savior's career we go right now, when the band were signed to Noise Records, whom they released five albums for in a prolific seven year period between 1997 and 2004.

When anyone is asked about the history of German heavy metal, most of the answers will revolve around bands such as Accept, Running Wild, Grave Digger, Helloween, Blind Guardian, Rage, Gamma Ray, HammerFall, Primal Fear and of course Iron Savior.

These bands re-wrote heavy metal music, pioneering the power metal genre, continuing to re-invent and re-work the sound throughout their careers - with all of the bands still performing today, and releasing new music too!

The six CD boxed set 'Riding On Fire - The Noise Years 1997-2004', contains Iron Savior's first five albums, plus the bands 1999 E.P. 'Interlude', which features live recordings from Iron Savior's performance at the 1998 Wacken Open Air festival in Germany.

In addition, the boxed set offers eleven bonus songs, taken from various releases during the bands time with Noise Records, as well as detailed liner notes from respected German writer Lothar Hausfeld.

Often compared in style to the likes of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, this boxed set contains no less than four 'Priest covers, as well as additional covers of songs by Black Sabbath, Nazareth, Helloween and Krokus, as well as (British singer/songwriter) Seal's 'Crazy'.

So while you await the arrival of Iron Savior's thirteenth album 'Firestar', take a listen to the 'Riding On Fire' boxed set, and become fully acquainted with the origins of one of heavy metal's finest bands.

Overall, a superb boxed set featuring music from the early part of Iron Savior's career, when the band re-invented the sound of heavy/power metal.
