Omery Rising E.P.

Omery Rising are a traditional heavy metal band from the USA, founded in 2007 by bass player Michael McClanahan and guitarist David Ramos - the band completed by drummer Ernesto Zepeda and singer John Nightdance.

The bands debut release - the self titled five song E.P. released in 2013 - is set to take on the world and bring back the glorious sound of traditional heavy metal. Influenced by legendary bands such as Black Sabbath, Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Raven, the band launch their E.P. with the classic sounding metaller 'Salem Witch'. Melding a fast pace with slower passages, Omery Rising offer a diverse six and a half minute opening salvo!

'Tears Of Blood' is meaner and moodier than 'Salem Witch', bringing to the fore the doom metal style of 'Sabbath, the elegance of Dio, and when the band finally step on the gas, the scorching speed of Raven! So if you thought the E.P.'s opening gambit was diverse, 'Tears Of Blood' takes diversity to a whole new level! 'Battle Cry' is a one minute instrumental acting as an intro to 'Tortured Souls', an up tempo offering that'll surely become a crowd favourite with its NWOBHM sounding guitars, incredible infectious level and immense head bang ability.

The fifth and final song on offer 'Sleepy Hollow', is by far and away the stand out song on the E.P. featuring every single conceivable trademark associated with traditional heavy metal. The band are on fire here, planting their collective feet firmly on the old school monitor to deliver a finale worth waiting for.

Overall, a great debut from a young and very enthusiastic band that are determined to bring back traditional heavy metal to the people.
