Fembres Pecadrius E.P.

Destral are a heavy metal band from Spain formed in 2017, releasing their debut E.P. 'No Hay Vuelta Atras' in 2020, with a second E.P. 'Fembres Pecadrius' emerging in 2022...

...featuring three songs, some of which may appear on the bands first long player - which is still in the early days with no date for release. The band came to my attention two years ago with their fast paced and electrically charged debut E.P. - with 'Fembres Pecadrius' just as fast, and just as electric! The E.P. opens with the title song 'Fembres pecadrius' - a slow burn traditional metal styled song that progresses to become a turbo charged torrent of thundering speed. Destral are back - and hitting the monitors hard with both feet.

Second song 'Nit fosca de l'anima' is lively, up tempo, and full of energy. Reminiscent of the glorious eighties and the sound of the iconic NWOBHM, Destral deliver heavy metal as it should be - fast paced, highly infectious, and very sing a long-able. Although, and I'll be the first to admit my grasp of the Spanish language is limited to "hola" and "gracias", but that would be of absolutely no use here, because the band sing all three songs in Valencian - the official language of the Valencian Community (or simply Valencia). But does it really matter what language the band sing in? Hell no it doesn't - music is a universal language understood by everyone. And when it's this good, I don't care what language it's sung in.

The final song on offer 'Barrejat', is the fastest out of the three, fairly scorching the Earth as it gallops forth at a furious pace - the E.P.'s final hurrah providing the head bangers of the world the best opportunity for the neck breaking style of head banging. 'Barrejat' is a cracking finale to what has been a short but breathless gallop of all out balls out, traditional heavy metal.

Overall, an infectious three song gallop of old school heavy metal, delivered with high levels of energy and gusto.
