Surveillance States

Crimson Slaughter are a thrash metal band from Spain formed in 2015, releasing their debut album 'Cycle Of Decay' in 2016. Displaying an uncompromising and brutal onslaught of aggressive thrash, Crimson Slaughter released their second album 'Surveillance States' in 2018.

An in your face and aggression fuelled fifty minutes of brutal thrash from one of Spain's up and coming newest thrash metal bands, gets underway with the ferocious 'Horror Chamber'. A high velocity aural assault of the barn storming brutal savagery that legends Kreator and Slayer brought to the world, 'Horror Chamber' is a menacing meld of brutality and angry aggression. A breath taking opener is followed by the outrageously fast paced 'Pain Traders', running very close to relegating both Kreator and Slayer into second place in terms of savage brutality. Fuck me what an opening double salvo. I have reviewed the new albums from thrashers Exumer and Psython, and brutal thrashers PurEnvY and SystemHouse33 already this year, yet Crimson Slaughter are smashing the boundaries of brutality, delivering a huge volcanic eruption of biblical proportions. 'Ruthless Pacificator' maintains the albums land speed record busting effort, banging heads violently, causing mosh pits to create destructive walls of death.

Crimson Slaughter are an unstoppable thrash metal force, unrelenting and unforgiving. The album powers on with the Max Cavalera era, highly aggressive fuelled Sepultura styled 'Trophy Hunter'. Pummelling is an understatement, maybe destructive, or devastating would be a more appropriate description. The breathless pace and power shows no sign of relenting as 'Faceless Henchmen' flies like a rocket blasting off to space. The impact 'Surveillance States' is making, is much bigger than the asteroid which hit the Earth and wiped out the dinosaurs (if that is your belief) and will live long in the memory of every metal head. Anger, angst, aggression and frustration are all thrown into the mix with 'Corporatocracy' delivering such a brutal assault that the band could be arrested for GBH - Gloriously Brutal Hardcore (insert "laughing" emoji here). But seriously, the punishment dished out by these Spanish thrashers is terrifying, and may have some listeners diving for cover. The airborne assault of war like ferocity is far from over, four songs still remain...

...'Decaying World' a furious flurry of raw energy and blistering pace. Like a nuclear bombing, 'Decaying World' is devastating, destructive and life changing. Desolation beckons as 'Decaying World' runs its course, followed by the fierce fire and brimstone 'P.O.A.L. (Prostitution Of A Legacy)'. Harder, faster and more forceful than anything that has gone before, 'P.O.A.L. (Prostitution Of A Legacy)' features a much more death metal vocal performance than any other song on offer. 'Order Through Terror' maintains the albums intense high velocity thrash metal avalanche. The breath taking blistering pace set by 'Horror Chamber' over forty minutes ago has not relented for a single minute and looks like it never will, as the final song comes thundering into sight. 'Dystopia' ends the album as it began - high paced, ferocious and aggression fuelled. What an album...

Overall, a thunderous and devastating thrash metal slaughter of the most savage nature, 'Surveillance States' is a ferocious and fierce aural assault.
