Voodoo Vegas are a hard rock band from the UK formed in 2006, releasing their debut album in 2013 and an E.P. in 2015. The bands second album has been released in 2016.

Down and dirty sleaze rock lives...in the shape of Voodoo Vegas. Hard rocking and bluesy, 'Backstabber' opens their new album in head nodding and foot tapping fashion. Full of groove and infectiousness, 'Backstabber' will delight fans of such bands as Faster Pussycat, Ratt and Cinderella. 'Long Time Gone' increases the tempo and has a Southern Rock influence. Indeed, Voodoo Vegas would not look out of place in a saloon bar in the USA desert, strutting their stuff to a baying, packed audience. Bringing the mood down and introducing acoustics 'Resolution' is a power ballad packed with AOR characteristics. With so many American influences, it is sometimes hard to believe that they are, in fact, a UK band. With a darker and more moody feel, the guitar heavy 'Killing Joke' slides in and oozes sleaze everywhere. 'Lady Divine' is a lighter, groovier song that chugs along, mid tempo in pace. The vocal delivery is clean and clear and has just enough rasp to make it sound a touch bluesy.

The guitar driven 'Poison' shimmies its way in and hits hard, at a slow pace, with an attitude laden vocal performance. Heavying things up a bit 'Black Heart Woman' id hard rocking melodic hard rock at its best. Retaining elements of sleaze and the blues 'Black Heart Woman' borders the lines between hard rock, soft rock and AOR. 'Sleeping In The Rain' is a guitar led song, dropping the bombastic nature of the early part of the album. A bold move maybe, but one that shows the growth of the band and their confidence to experiment and not be confined to just the one style of music. That said, 'I Hear You Scream' is heavy on the bombast and is a big riffing, hard hitting rock song. Packing the proverbial punch, 'I Hear You Scream' is the rockiest song on the album. And the heaviest grooved song on the album is left to the album closer 'Walk Away'. Chunky and big riffing, 'Walk Away' is a cracking slab of melodic hard rock with just the slightest touch of the blues.

Overall, infectious grooves, memorable hooks and a heavy influence of the blues, this is proof that the UK can hold its head high in the USA dominated sleaze rock genre.
