Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2

Victorius are a power metal band from Germany forming in 2004 releasing six albums to date - 'Unleash The Titans' (2010), 'The Awakening' (2013), 'Dreamchaser' (2014), 'Heart Of The Phoenix' (2017), 'Space Ninjas From Hell' (2020), and 'Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2', released in 2022...

...and is the next chapter of the ongoing war that began in 2018 with the E.P. 'Dinosaur Warfare', and continuing with 'Space Ninjas From Hell' (in 2020). The electrifying pace and lightning speed of the bands previous album, has been replaced by a more majestic and grandiose display of power metal. Yes the energy is still there, but Victorius bring an air of grandeur to the new album - the one minute intro 'Saurus Invictus Lazerus' breathing anticipation fuelled fire into 'Pt. 2', as 'Victorious Dinogods' explodes into life and sets a scorching pace as it gallops furiously on. Victorius are back - and are full of high energy and pizzazz. The melodious intent across the chorus break is simply gorgeous, as is the bands root power metal sound, 'Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2' off to an absolute flyer! And if you've been following the band for a few years, you'll understand the lyrical content, eager to know how the story unfolds. Hitting harder than the album opener, 'Mighty Magic Mammoth' is a bustling barrage of infectious and overly catchy metal that'll have listeners smiling from ear to ear - pushing Victorius further to the forefront of the worldwide metal scene to do battle with the likes of DragonForce, Cellador, Helloween, Powerwolf, and Sabaton for the right to sit upon the power metal throne and rule the world.

Without pausing for a breather, the band storm on with the majestic swagger of 'Jurassic Jetfighters', accelerating across the chorus break. An absolutely wonderful opening triple from a band on fucking fire! The intensity is simply breath taking, Victorius delivering a top drawer performance. Energy levels remain exceptionally high as the album powers on with the thunderous 'Dinos And Dragons', portraying a heavier feel than what has gone before. Yet the bands immense melodious intent remains intact - and even though the album isn't even halfway through yet, I have no qualms in saying 'Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2' is Album Of The Year quality! Bringing an anthemic feel to the album 'Katana Kingdom Rising' is a big, bold stomper that has a massive hymn-like chorus that everyone can get behind - just imagine the thrill of being in the audience when Victorius perform this one live (fingers crossed). It's gonna be an incredible moment.

And with regards to this album, incredible moments are everywhere - 'God Of Roar' a rip roaring roller coaster of full on power metal. Big and bouncy with an almighty thump, 'God Of Roar' is punchier than a hundred boxers sparring in a gym! And the chorus - OMG! Catchy with a hundred percent sing a long ability. 'Night Of The Nuclear Ninja' returns the mighty anthemic stomp of earlier, but with a much bigger swagger. More majestic too - the infectious level higher than ever recorded. This album is definitely gonna get my vote for Album Of The Year. And without dropping the albums incredibly high level of intensity 'Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2' powers on with the high velocity 'Triceps Ceratops' - a barnstorming barrage of top notch power metal. And yet another sing a long styled chorus, the band engaging their fans at every opportunity.

And flipping heck! 'Tyrannosaurus Steel' is a knee trembler - raising the hairs on the forearms and causing goose bumps to appear on every inch of the body...and I mean every inch! The pace, power, and oomph of 'Tyrannosaurus Steel' is simply fabulous, and will have everyone chanting "tyrannosaurus steel' at the tops of their voices. Another cracking in concert moment in the making methinks! Increasing the pace and power and highlighting the lightning speed of previous albums, Victorius gallop on with the blistering 'Shadow Of The Shinobi' - all without dropping the albums overall high melodious intent. This is a band performing at their best delivering probably the best work of their career to date. And bringing a great album to a close is the heavy punch of 'Powerzord' - punching harder than any other song on offer. Even the hundred sparring boxers of earlier are no match for this one! The band ending 'Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2' in a glorious manner.

Overall, a great album of high energy high intensity power metal, infectious and memorable, and a very strong contender for Album Of The Year.
