Dinosaur Warfare E.P. |
||||||
Victorius are a power metal band from Germany forming in 2004 releasing their debut album in 2010. The band released two more albums in quick succession, 2013 and 2014, with their fourth album 'Heart Of The Phoenix', released in 2017. Victorius have been quick to follow up that albums success with the 2018 release of the six song E.P. 'Dinosaur Warfare'.
Last years 'Heart Of The Phoenix' saw Victorius rise up and punch a massive hole in the power metal genre with their brand of fast paced and urgent heavy metal. The band have risen even higher in the genre with the explosive E.P. 'Dinosaur Warfare'. The brief, effects laden and atmospheric setting intro 'Saurus Infernus Galcticus' gives way to the thunderous and simply breath taking speed metal romp 'Dinosaur Warfare'. A blistering pace, a twin guitar attack with a clean and clear vocal delivery, Victorius return to the worldwide metal scene with a brilliant opening salvo. The explosive opening doesn't falter either, with the highly energetic 'Legend Of The Power Saurus' steaming on at full tilt. Heads will be banging vigorously as 'Legend Of The Power Saurus' gallops on at high velocity. Following in the footsteps of pioneering power metallers, fellow countrymen Helloween, Grave Digger and Accept, Victorius also deliver one hundred percent catchiness and a sing a long ability second to none.
With six songs on offer across twenty one minutes, Victorius have delivered a super sonic assault of some of the best power metal I have ever heard. 'Lazertooth Tiger' is a majestic romp of mighty riffs and a sing a long chorus that just begs to be sung along to. Heads banging, feet stomping, fists punching the air, 'Lazertooth Tiger' is an infectious song that will plant a smile a mile wide across the faces of fans all around the world. If you have never heard Victorius, then you are in for a breath taking treat.
With a much heavier feel, 'Razorblade Raptor' storms in and is a rampaging rage of heaviness, losing absolutely nothing of the catchiness and infectiousness that Victorius inject into every song they play. 'Flames Of Armageddon' brings the E.P. to an end in the most catchy way ever...the chorus is a delightful sing a long affair with the chugging guitars so infectious you'll never wanna stop them playing. 'Flames Of Armageddon' is a superb ending to a superb E.P. of everything that the power metal genre stands for.
Overall, a breath taking twenty one minutes of superb power metal, delivered at a blistering pace, with an infectiousness that will make you press the replay button over and over.
