Rise E.P. |
||||||
Twisted State Of Mind are a hard rock band from the UK, formed in 2011 at the tender age of just eleven. Despite their young age, Twisted State Of Mind display a very high level of professionalism, exuding a tonne of confidence in both the studio and live on stage.
The band consist of Damon Marshall (drums), Luke Ashby (guitar, vocals) and Ben Comley (bass, vocals) - 'Rise' E.P. is the bands debut release, emerging in 2012.
First song up is the in your face attitude driven 'Fatal Acclaim', delivering a heavy hitting style of hard rock bordering on heavy metal! And as I mentioned earlier the level of professionalism for such a young band is incredible, the musicianship from these young lads is very mature and may even put in the shade some of their older - or is that elder - counterparts! Or peers if you like, either way Twisted State Of Mind have launched their career with an almighty bang!
Released as the bands first single, 'Rise' continues the pace and power set by 'Fatal Acclaim', really driving home how good the band are. And in a live setting, 'Rise' (the song) has become a crowd favourite, with most, if not all the audience chanting "rise" across the anthemic and highly infectious chorus break.
Third and final song on the E.P. 'Ashes Of Her Enemy', opens slowly with an immensely melodic intro, quickly turning one eighty to become a heavy rocking, fist in the air, foot tapping gallop. Yes readers, gallop - for the band are not content to just sit in hard rock territory, Twisted State Of Mind wanna cross the border into heavy metal, standing loud and proud in the gap between the two genres.
Overall, one of the most impressive debuts I've ever heard. Strong vocals, powerful drumming and crunching guitar work all make this a must listen, and if you ever get the chance to see these boys live - go!
