We Are Revolution |

Thrasherwolf are a thrash metal band from the UK formed in 2016, releasing their 'Blood Moon' E.P. in 2018, and their debut album 'We Are Revolution' in 2020.
British thrash metal pioneers Onslaught and Acid Reign placed Britain firmly on the worldwide thrash metal scene during the eighties, proving that Britain wasn't just the home of the NWOBHM evolution. These two bands paved the way for countless thrash metal bands to follow their path, with one of the more recent creations Thrasherwolf, joining the legacy that was created nearly forty years ago... Honing their skills around their home town of London, Thrasherwolf also had success at the 2020 London Metal 2 The Masses competition, bringing them out of the shadows and into the light. And now with their debut album, the light is only gonna get brighter, as they deliver nine songs (including all five from their E.P.) over a fast and furious fifty two minutes...
...all coming to life with the rabble rousing speech 'Words Of Revolution', complete with a roaring crowd, quickly followed by the menacing 'War'. Pounding hard, 'War' is gonna obliterate towns and cities with its ferocity, picking up speed as it marches on. Heads will be banging at break neck speed, as 'War' storms on for over eleven minutes! Yes, an eleven minute album opener - but not to worry, there is so much variety here you ain't gonna get bored. Including 'War', five of the nine songs on offer breach the six minute mark, with 'Vortex' the next one up. Faster than its predecessor, 'Vortex' careers on at lightning speed, invoking heads to bang even quicker! Thrasherwolf, with just their opening double shot, are displaying the blunter, savage nature of British thrash, compared to all our friends across the pond in the good ol' US of A... At just two and a half minutes in length, 'The Pack' is by far and away the shortest song, raising the menace levels to positively frightening. Lightning quick too, 'The Pack' is a devastating barrage of savagery.
The more melodic style of thrash metal makes an appearance, with 'Good Old Fashioned Violence' displaying an almost traditional style of heavy metal. 'Good Old Fashioned Violence' also places its feet on the monitor a couple of times, and will appeal to fans of both thrash and (traditional) heavy metal. 'Vermillion Steel' strides in and races off at high velocity - the fastest song on the album so far. Thundering forth at lightning speed, 'Vermillion Steel' will get even the laziest of metallers head nodding back and forth - yes, it is that powerful and all consuming.
All pace is dropped in favour of a heavy hitting and menacing foot stomp, courtesy of 'Vanity' - the album featuring all out pace so far - 'Vanity' showing how thunderously heavy the band can go. And then all of a sudden pace emerges from nowhere and takes over the chorus break, resuming the menacing foot stomp straight after. Displaying the black album era Metallica softer style of thrash, 'Ruin' creeps in and is all mellow and mushy - slowly building the tension, eventually becoming a mid tempo, heavy hitter. The albums final song, is the eight minutes plus 'Blood Moon', opening with an atmospheric and crescendo building intro, crashing to life with Slayer like brutality. And for the first time, the band show a little of the American style of thrash metal - the closing minutes of 'Blood Moon' tearing up the airwaves with devastating savagery. Thrasherwolf are a young band new to the thrash metal scene, but they've got the great sound of thrash down to a T . . .
Overall, a thunderous thrash metal ride, 'We Are Revolution' is full of pace, menace and aggression.
