Breakpoint

(single)

The Order Of Chaos are a heavy metal band from Canada formed in 2003, releasing their self titled debut album in 2009. The follow up 'Burn These Dreams' arrived in 2011 with a two song E.P. 'Sexwitch' released the following year. The bands third album, 'Apocalypse Moon' was released in 2015, with a second E.P. 'Night Terror' emerging in 2018.

'Breakpoint' is the first single released off the bands fourth album 'Maniacal', due for release later in 2020. The new album represents the end of an era for the band, with guitarist and founding member John Simon Fallon stepping away.

The very heavy end of the heavy metal genre slopes steeply into thrash metal territory - and that is exactly where you'll find The Order Of Chaos. Their previous album 'Apocalypse Moon' was a fast, furious and savage assault, that came at you more from a thrash metal stance, than a heavy metal one - the same stance the new offering comes from, but with a bit more melody...

...only a bit mind, as for the most part 'Breakpoint' is a thrash metal offering. The vocal performance from the bands singer Amanda Kiernan is a mostly harsh and growly one - that is until she switches to a clean and clear style for the added melody I mentioned earlier. 'Breakpoint' is heavy metal bordering on thrash, fierce and feisty, and is a corker of a teaser for the bands new album.

Overall, a heavy hitting thunder storm of fierceness, toeing the thrash metal border line with an (at times) aggressive vocal display.
