Weight Of The World E.P. |
||||||
POWERHOUSE are a power metal band from the USA formed in 2016, releasing their debut E.P. 'Adrenaline' in 2017. A second E.P. 'Weight Of The World' was released in 2022...
...featuring just two songs - moving the bands sound firmly and squarely into the realms of thrash metal. The bands debut E.P. was an exciting blend of power metal come thrash, but for the new release, POWERHOUSE are defiantly thundering down the thrash metal freeway! Led by (founding) guitarist Niko Valdez - who now assumes lead vocal duties too - the band is completed by bass player Nate Smyth and drummer Brandon Gallegos (Regicide).
With the ferocity of thrash and the oomph of power metal blended with the old school flavour of traditional heavy metal, the E.P. gets underway with the heavy hitter 'Rage Brain'. Combining blistering pace with a rough, tough and brash feel, mainly due to Niko's gruff vocal style, 'Rage Brain' is a roaring barrage of savagery that's gonna send the worldwide mosh pits into overdrive. The intensity is incredible...
...and doesn't dip for the second (and final) song on offer 'Envy'. Featuring a touch of the iconic galloping style of heavy metal, 'Envy' will appeal more to the metal traditionalists than 'Rage Brain' does - although thrash metallers will love both songs equally. The head bang ability is top notch, the infectious level off the scale, and it's a shame there's only two songs! Fingers crossed there's more to come from POWERHOUSE - much more!
Overall, a thunderous double that oozes intensity and head bang ability, 'Weight Of The World' E.P. is a highly infectious listen.
