Road Werewolves |

Power And Glory are a heavy metal band from Argentina formed by guitarist Hernan Chaves, releasing their debut album 'The Last Rebel' in 2019, with sophomore album 'Road Werewolves' emerging in 2022...
...featuring ten songs across a scorching thirty six minutes! If you're a fan of metal legends Accept, Judas Priest, Saxon, and W.A.S.P. - you need to get 'Road Werewolves'...every song on offer could easily have been lifted from any eighties era album by any or all of these three great bands. The sound is punchy and rocky, and will have you smiling from ear to ear, as the album comes to life with the short, effects laden and guitar driven intro 'Mayhem' - segueing into the album opener proper 'Freedom Rider'. Full of pace and bombastic to the max, 'Freedom Rider' is a hard hitting slab of heavy metal to head bang furiously to! The blistering pace is electric, the energy and oomph overwhelming, and the infectious level has just rocketed off the fucking charts! What an absolutely fabulous start...
...a start that is maintained with even more punch - 'No Guts No Glory' adopting the mighty foot stomping style of anthemic heavy metal. The kinda style that British metallers Saxon are famous for. And that chorus is so chant-able, you'll all be screaming "no guts no glory" after just the one listen - what an in-concert sing a long moment that'll be! And oh my goodness the iconic sound of traditional heavy metal fills the air like dense fog - 'Give Me Speed' planting one foot firmly on the monitor and galloping forth with a determined purpose and intent...Power And Glory delivering a triple opening salvo to make every metal head drool profusely!
And without letting the intensity or energy levels drop, the band storm on with the heavy hitting 'Sharp As Steel' - a slight menace creeping into the bands sound. Yet it doesn't take anything away from the incredible melodious nature of the album up to this point - an album that has been blazing bright with an old school metal feeling since it began. A feeling that ain't going away anytime soon - 'Out Of Control' picking up the baton and thundering on. Power And Glory may be from South America where extreme thrash metal is the richer musical flavour, but by God have they bucked that trend - delivering a brand of traditional heavy metal that is very British inspired. But then there is also the inspiration of muscular American heavy metal, as portrayed by 'Born To Win' - replete with the punch and crunch of mid tempo anthemic metal.
The title song 'Road Werewolves', is masterfully melodic, and a foot stomper of the most colossal kind! Not too dissimilar to the power driven style of British heavy metal stalwarts Judas Priest - Power And Glory driving forward with a great amount of gusto. The intensity of the album is astounding, the band keeping the hammer down with more force than the mighty Thor! And the iconic guitar sound of the NWOBHM greets the listener as 'Street Metal' gets underway - with metal traditionalists drooling and dribbling everywhere! The head bang ability of 'Street Metal' is off the charts, the band reaching heights never before reached. And if I had to choose a favourite song on the album - this would be it! Bringing the album to a close, Power And Glory up the ante to deliver the punchiest song on offer - 'Danger' taking the mighty foot stomp to a whole new level! Not to mention the head bang ability too, the band ending the album with a final double flourish.
Overall, an infectious and highly head bang-able album of heavy metal, recommended for fans of Judas Priest and Saxon.
