Naitaka E.P.

Naitaka are a thrash metal band from Canada formed in 2019 releasing their debut self titled E.P. in 2021.

Featuring Mortillery vocalist Cara McCutchen, Naitaka are a ferocity laden blend of thrash and melodic death metal. The four songs on the bands debut E.P. hit hard - very hard, with Cara's searing vocals sharp enough to lacerate the sky! The band line-up for the E.P. is Troy Melnyk (guitar), Tyler Dake (drums), John Shippit (bass), Cody Lonsdale (guitar), and Cara McCutchen (vocals).

With the ferocity unleashed by 'Conquer With Vengeance', the E.P. is up and running with a terrifying feel, especially when Cara's vocal scream rips through the air! Totally frightening! And as 'Conquer With Vengeance' motors on with a thrash metal mentality, the aggression and menace is scary to say the least - many listeners diving for cover behind the sofa. But not us die hard metalheads - we're standing tall, facing fear with a steely gaze, and begging the band to give us more. And more they do, 'Slaughterhead' a rip roaring and even more aggression fuelled slice of thrash. And the vocals - more death defying than ever! The blood curdling gut wrenching screams of Cara cutting deep like a butchers meat slicing machine!

And the galloping style of traditional heavy metal rises to the surface, as the band storm on with 'N'ha-a-itk' - and the introduction of male harsh vocals. The blend of the two is spellbinding, and with a musical backdrop of a more metal nature than either thrash or melodic death, 'N'ha-a-itk' is gonna appeal to a very wide array of listeners. Especially when Cara sings clean vocals too - what a range! The fourth and final song on offer 'Frightmare' oozes the aura of a nightmare born in hell - the searing vocals cutting deep and the music pummelling and pounding the senses like a jack hammer at full throttle. The bludgeoning thrash metal attack by Naitaka has been nothing short of devastating, yet thoroughly enjoyable at the same time. And I'd watch this space too, for there is a rumour of new music from the band!

Overall, an aggression loaded and terror fuelled four songs of harsh thrash with a sprinkling of traditional metal.
