Rock The Castle - Live 2013 |
||||||
Kaine are a heavy metal band from the UK formed in 2009, releasing their debut album 'Falling Through Freedom' in 2012, and just a year later the live album 'Rock The Castle - Live 2013'.
Emerging in 2013, 'Rock The Castle' was recorded at the legendary St. Anne's Castle in Essex (UK) on 13th April 2013, and captures the band at their blistering best, performing songs from their first album and the bands 2010 self titled E.P.
The current line up of Rage Sadler (vocals and guitar), Dan Mailer (vocals and bass), Anthony Murch (guitar) and Chris Mackinnon (drums) perform with passion as they storm through songs such as 'Lies Of The Forsaken', 'Violent Metal' and the instrumental monster 'Entropy (Unrelenting Chaos)'.
'Helpless Salvation', 'Champion' and 'Valnir' are solid rock songs - well worth their inclusion in the live set. At over six minutes in length each, 'Quality Of Madness' and 'Waking Dead' are comparable to legnds Iron Maiden in terms of composition, writing and catchy guitar riffs.
The 'drum solo & jam' is well performed allowing the band to show off their skills as musicians. With so much on offer here, it's difficult to choose a stand out song, but 'Lost Sages Tower' will most likely take that honour - a classic traditional (and totally) British heavy metal song.
Overall, a very good recording of an excellent live performance. If you want to know if British heavy metal is alive - here's your answer. Cracking songs, superb musicianship, great vocals and above all, passion, make this a must have live album for fans of traditional British heavy metal.
