The Test Of Time E.P.

Jenner are an all female speed/thrash metal band from Serbia formed in 2013, releasing a two song demo in 2015, Jenner deliver an aggressive and brutal blend of speed and thrash metal, similar in style to bands such as Overkill, Anthrax and Exodus. The bands debut album 'To Live Is To Suffer' was released in 2017. With a recent line-up overhaul, leaving Aleksandra as the only sole founding member, Jenner move into 2020 as a trio, with their latest release, the E.P. 'The Test Of Time'.

Featuring three songs, two new ones and a cover, along with a guest vocal performance from Emil Ivosevic, lead singer for Serbian thrashers Sigma Epsilon. First up are the two new songs - the first of which 'Night Without A Dawn' is a thundering heavy metal romp. The band have slowed from their speed metal influenced debut to become a more traditional heavy metal outfit. The bands new singer, the current guitarist (and founding member) Aleksandra, also tweaks their sound towards the heavy metal genre too,

Guest vocalist Emil Ivosevic takes the lead vocal role for the title song 'Test Of Time'. His throaty almost croaky style, stands out like chalk and cheese to the bands singer Aleksandra's clean and clear style. 'Test Of Time' blends fast paced thunder with blistering guitar riffs and mid paced passages.

The third and final song on offer is a cover version of 'Young And Proud' by Serbian power/speed metal band Demoniac, off their 1992 album 'Touch The Wind'. This version is beefed up and quicker than the original, oozing more oomph. It's almost as though Jenner have tweaked it to fit more easily into their soundscape, and if you didn't know it was a cover, you'd think it was a Jenner original.

Overall, a hard hitting release by Jenner showcasing different styles across all three songs, showing maturity from their debut album.
