Ruff Justice

Crazy Lixx are a hard rock band from Sweden formed in 2002 and releasing their debut album in 2007. Three more studio albums followed before the bands two guitarists left. Replacements were recruited, with Crazy Lixx announcing in early 2017 that 'Ruff Justice', the bands fifth studio album would be released in April.

Sweden has a long history for producing successful rock bands, with Crazy Lixx continuing the standard set by Europe, Treat, Shotgun Messiah, HammerFall, Cryonic Temple, Eclipse and Astral Doors. Combining both the European and American hard rock styles, Crazy Lixx deliver energy, bombast and foot tappingly addictive rock songs. Opening with 'Wild Child', the new album is immediately attractive, with catchy rhythms, a sing a long chorus and a clean and clear vocal style for easy listening and understanding. 'XIII' is a much bolder song that hits hard and is so infectious and catchy, you'll be smiling from ear to ear. This brand of feel good hard rock was developed during the eighties with American bands such as Poison, Ratt, Cinderella and Skid Row leading the way. 'Walk The Wire' takes on a more mellow and lighter feel as it glides elegantly by. Crazy Lixx have managed to create songs that are immediately attractive, have sing a long ability and will give you that warm and happy feeling.

With an increase in energy and intensity 'Shot With A Needle Of Love' is a barn storming romp of galloping rhythms. Hard edged and catchy, 'Shot With A Needle Of Love' is more Bon Jovi and Aeromsith tinged hard rock. Lowering the tempo and increasing the soulfulness, 'Killer' ambles in and meanders on its way, begging for lighters to be lit and held aloft. 'Hunter Of The Heart' swaggers in with a mighty riff and foot stomps heavily, with a bluntness more associated with British hard rock. 'Hunter Of The Heart' is a brilliant, hard hitting rock song with an abrasive edge. Influenced by the hard rock cultures from two continents (the USA and UK), Crazy Lixx also have AOR tendencies, as displayed heavily with 'Snakes In Paradise'. Echoing some of the greatest AOR bands ever, bands such as Boston, Journey and Asia, 'Snakes In Paradise' is a soft rock masterpiece.

With a song titled 'If It's Love', you'd expect a ballad...and you won't be disappointed either. 'If It's Love' is a mellow barrage of acoustics and soulful singing. A time to definitely get your lighters held high and start swaying from side to side. Intensity rises and energy levels shoot off the scale as 'Kiss Of Judas' rocks into view. Packing the biggest of punches, 'Kiss Of Judas' is catchy, infectious and the chorus is the most sing a long-able (if such a word exists) on the album. If you're feeling down or a little unhappy, with 'Kiss Of Judas' playing, there is a good chance that your mood will improve by the time the song reaches the chorus. The album is brought to a close with the US style, hard rock influenced 'Live Before I Die'. Foot tappingly addictive and catchy, 'Live Before I Die' is in the same vein as US icons Bon Jovi, as it rocks its way to a conclusion. In fact, there is a quite a hard rocking similarity to 'It's My Life', from the 2000 Bon Jovi album 'Crush'.

Overall, immediately attractive and addictive, this is an album of hard rocking hard rock that is both catchy and infectious. A feel good album from start to finish.
