Rush Of Power |
||||||
Steel Inferno are a heavy metal band from Denmark formed in 2012, releasing four albums to date - 'Aesthetics Of Decay' (2016), '...And The Earth Stood Still' (2020), 'Evil Reign' (2022), and 'Rush Of Power'...
...released in 2024 featuring more speed, aggression and ferocity than ever before! So much in fact, the band are morphing into a thrash metal band, the bands new album consisting of nine songs across a blistering thirty five minutes of immense head bang ability - 'The Abyss' roaring outta the blocks at a hundred fucking miles an hour! Faster than the speed of light, Steel Inferno impose a thrash metal ferocity on every listener everywhere - listeners who's jaws have all dropped to the floor with a resounding thud such is the wow factor of the albums red hot opening salvo! And 'Rush Of Power' gets even hotter with the rougher, tougher and gruffer but nonetheless super charged 'Cut Down By The Chainsaw' - the already sky high head bang ability simply getting higher and higher! An opening brace to devastate landscapes and send a worldwide audience into a fucking frenzy, the Danish metallers keep the hammer well and truly down for 'Hunt The Rush', the band proudly straddling the border of thrash and traditional heavy metal, delivering an urgency and purpose that outstrips everything the band have achieved on their previous albums! 'Rush Of Power' after just three songs in, has more than lived up to its prophetic title!
The power rushing (or should that be gushing) from the album is incredible - Steel Inferno increasing the speed yet again as 'Power Games' explodes into life like a thousand incendiary devices all going off at once! The band are at full velocity here, leaving the sound barrier well in their wake as 'Power Games' thunders on to a conclusion, 'Electrocuter' taking over the speed baton to roar louder than everything heard so far! The pace, power and purpose right now is like nothing I've heard for a long time, the band breaking land speed records with consummate ease, and having plenty left in the tank to break 'em again! And again! And with a sudden, sharp downturn in speed, 'Cathedral Run' spends its first thirty seconds all mellow and serene, Steel Inferno resuming the all out speed metal attack with a vengeance! I tell ya readers, there's no escaping the bands hell for leather heavy metal onslaught, the band flattening everything and everyone foolish enough to be standing in their way!
And just take a wild fucking guess what a song titled 'The Blitz' is gonna sound like - devastating with a tonne of aggression fuelled head bang ability! 'The Blitz' is probably the fastest song so far, although it's quite hard to tell as they're all lightning fast and I'm having a bit of difficulty typing fast enough to keep up with the Danish five-piece and their ferocious heavy metal attack! An attack that's not over yet as there's still two more songs to come - the first of which 'Attack', does exactly what it says on the tin! Steel Inferno have been on the attack since minute one, speeding frantically forth with phenomenal purpose and intent - just what the band have been feeding on since their last album I don't know, but whatever it is, it's given them a humungous amount of energy and drive! Bringing a barnstorming album to a close, 'Coven In The Dark' adopts a classic old school "foot on the monitor" feel, the chugging guitar sound highly reminiscent of the legendary NWOBHM evolution, Steel Inferno not forgetting when and where heavy metal was born!
Overall, a fast, fierce and ferocious high speed gallop of full throttle heavy metal driven by incredible power and energy.
