Edge 39 E.P.

Revenite are a heavy metal band from Denmark formed in 2019, releasing two E.P.'s to date - 'The Dawn Of A New Mourning' (2022) and 'Edge 39' (2024)...

...featuring five songs across a hard hitting twenty five minutes! That's twenty five fast paced and furious minutes that sees - or rather hears - the band visit every corner of the heavy metal genre. Revenite - comprising Ronnie Efland (vocals), Christian Lund Jorgensen (guitar), Peder Bisgaard Lindelov (guitar), Martin Dam Wied (bass) and Kim Frederiksen (drums) - blend a little Black Sabbath style doom into their traditional "foot on the monitor" metal march, although it's with a bombastic breeziness that the band accelerate into sight with the E.P.'s opening gambit, the title song 'Edge 39'. The band are raucous and full of energy here, battering every listener with a barrage of thrash tinged heavy metal - Revenite straight from the off, straddling two genres of metal to attract a wide array fans.

And with a dramatic change in tempo, pace and feel, 'Pandemic Death' thunder stomps into view with all the doom-laden heaviness of Black Sabbath, touches of Candlemass melancholy, and a fairly weighty injection of industrial metal - the band not willing to be confined to just the one genre of metal. That said, Revenite are heavily influenced by the traditional metal style, the guitar tone and foot on the monitor gallop rearing its head many times throughout 'T.T.M.' - the pace changing, tempo changing romp sitting firmly, and very squarely right in the heart of heavy metal territory.

Clocking in at seven and a half minutes in length, 'When All Drowns In Hate' is the longest song on the E.P. and maintains the sky high intensity level that began minute one with song one - Revenite not taking their foot off the gas! The energy level too, has been off the charts, the Danish outfit marching majestically on with heads held high as 'When All Drowns In Hate' stomps across the land. And bringing the E.P. to a close, 'Walk With Me' enters the fray as the heaviest hitter on offer, the mix of punch, crunch and groove metal swagger is stunning, Revenite ending their 'Edge 39' E.P. very much on a high.

Overall, a twenty five minute march of traditional metal featuring inspiration from a wide array of genres such as doom, groove and industrial.
