Earėndel |

Retador are a thrash metal band from Spain formed in 2020, releasing their debut album 'Retador' in 2022, and sophomore album 'Earėndel' in 2025...
...featuring a nine song brutal barrage of thrash across a blistering forty ferocious minutes! The speed of the album is breath taking, Retador fully fuelled and ready for take off - 'Earėndel' opening with the title song 'Earėndel', the first minute a mellow warm-up before all fucking hell breaks loose! The band are at full throttle here, hurtling across the land at phenomenal speed, the searing metalcore style vocals viciously lacerating the sky - Retador on the warpath with a vengeance! The opening salvo has been nothing short of breathless, 'Somos Eternos' not allowing listeners to breathe, the red hot scorching speed of the (albums) opener doubling as the band explode into life with a tonne of frantic energy, devastating landscapes and crumbling buildings into ruins without a single ounce of remorse! The opening brace has been brutal, the band storming on at full tilt with 'La Sombra de tu Existir', the level of head bang ability simply rising higher and higher - Retador ignoring limits, boundaries and the laws of gravity to turn in a simply supersonic slice of spellbinding thrash!
I thought the bands debut two years ago was a brutally aggressive album - 'Earėndel' (the album) displaying more brutality and aggression across its first three songs than the entire 'Retador' album does! And with no let up in ferocity, 'Redes' sets the world alight with the fastest pace of the album so far, the band scorching the earth to leave only smoke and desolation in their wake! I really can't express how devastating 'Earėndel' (the album) has been up to this point - if it gets any more devastating I'll need to get my Thesaurus out to look up some more descriptive words! And just as I say that, Retador launch headlong into the cataclysmic 'Lux Ferre', a speedy thrash metal romp with a mighty groove metal swagger - the band dipping a toe over the border wall into traditional heavy metal territory too, every metal traditionalist turning their heads in the direction of Spain to see where all the commotion is coming from! And by commotion, I mean the tornado of thrash metal pouring outta Retador - pouring profusely with absolutely no sign of it stopping! And why would you want it to stop anyway when it's this fucking good, 'Asesino' maintaining the incredible thrash attack at the fiercest level since the album began!
'Earėndel' (the album) is most likely gonna do catastrophic damage to the necks, heads and ears of every listener, fan, follower, thrasher, metaller and mosher on the planet, local accident and emergency services in every country on high alert for the influx of patients with torn muscles, hearing impairments and broken bones! But not until the album ends - no-one is going anywhere right now as there's still three more songs to come! The first of which 'Profanado', takes over as the fastest song heard so far, Retador maintaining their unforgiving and unapologetic thrash metal onslaught! I tell ya readers, if you wanna annoy your neighbours, you won't go far wrong with this one, 'Profanado' more rabid, wild and gung-ho than anything else on offer! 'Terror en la Noche' returns groove metal to the fore - at a hundred fucking miles an hour! The band are deadly serious when it comes to delivering rip-roaring high velocity thrash with immense head bang ability, the last forty minutes a savage barrage of some of the most vicious thrash you're ever likely to hear this year! And to round off the album, 'Abismo 52' is a two and half minute eerie instrumental that kinda acts as a warm down from all the vigorous head banging you've done all album long!
Overall, a fast, fierce and ferocious forty minutes of full on and in your face aggression fuelled brutal thrash.
