Cuts From The Deep E.P.

Pirates Of Metal are a heavy metal band from the UK formed in 2003 releasing a demo album 'n an E.P. during their first few formative years. Since 2008, the band 'ave been quiet, reforming 'n rearming themselves in 2019. A second E.P. 'Cuts From The Deep', was released in 2022...

...featuring lyrical themes surrounding - as if ye haven't guessed already - pirates!

So man your cannons readers, 'n let's set sail on the high seas t' discover what treasures this band o' buccaneers from the UK 'ave to offer! The bands new E.P. explodes into life with the bombastic 'Mutiny' - with a swagger mighty reminiscent o' the founders o' the pirate metal genre, (German legends) Running Wild. The infectious 'n overly catchy nature o' 'Mutiny' will have every lad, lass 'n lassie screaming "aaaarrrrgggghhhh!" in delight. The band pick up the pace 'n thunder on with the energetic 'Dread Wolf'. The turn o' speed be electric, Pirates Of Metal invoking some serious head banging from landlubbers all o'er the world.

'Ship Of Doom' opens up in menacing fashion, sending shivers down me timbers, building t' a thunderous crescendo, 'n then launching into a boisterous barrage o' fiery riffs. Just as infectious as the previous two shanties 'Ship Of Doom' be classic sounding traditional metal with a twist o' pirate. Taking a lyrical leaf out o' (German thrashers) Tankard's shanty writing book, Pirates Of Metal deliver their own drinking anthem - 'Give Me Grog (Or Give Me Death)'. The sing a long nature o' 'Give Me Grog (Or Give Me Death)' will 'ave everyone splicing the mainbrace in salute t' a cracking sea shanty. The fifth 'n final shanty - described as a bonus track - be from the bands early days, 'n was a firm live favourite: 'Battle On The High Seas' a riotous rabble rousing anthem that will 'ave mosh pits jigging - 'n head banging too o' course. So me hearties, what y'all waiting for, sail on o'er t' the bands Bandcamp 'n grab yourself a wee bit o' booty in the shape o' 'Cuts From The Deep' - or risk a walk along the plank!

Overall, a feisty five shanty romp o' mighty infectious heavy metal featuring a strong traditional flavour.
