War For Peace E.P. |
||||||
Ominum are a thrash metal band from Sweden formed in 2018 releasing the bands debut album 'Monument' in 2022, debut E.P. 'War For Peace' in 2023, and in 2024 a "deluxe" version of the bands E.P. will released...
...featuring all three songs from the original plus two bonus songs - more on those later! 'Cause the three-piece outfit from Gothenburg waste no fucking time - storming into life with the explosive 'Divided We Stand'. Powering outta the blocks at blistering speed, Ominum mix death metal vocals with the brutally aggressive nature of thrash, 'Divided We Stand' offering immense head bang ability to every listener, metaller and thrasher on the planet!
What a start to the E.P. - the band increasing the levels of menace and intensity as 'Land Of Hate' hits hard with a roaring groove metal guitar riff, Ominum shattering any form of silence anywhere with gut wrenching growls and howls! Standing proudly on the bridge that connects the thrash and death metal genres, 'War For Peace' E.P. is gonna appeal equally to fans of both, the band setting light to the touch paper to rocket off at high velocity with the title song 'War For Peace'. Shuddering the ground under their feet, Ominum are blazing a fiery trail of ferocity, 'War For Peace' (the song) head bang-able to the fucking max!
The first bonus song is the bands most recent single 'An Empty, Endless Race' released earlier this year, and is faster than every other song heard so far, Ominum sending the worldwide mosh pits into fucking overdrive with this one! The menace, aggression and brutally pouring outta 'An Empty, Endless Race' is exactly what you'd expect from Teutonic thrash - the band favouring the German style of thrash metal of bands such as Kreator, Sodom, Destruction and Tankard over their American counterparts! The final song on offer (and the second bonus) is a re-mixed version of the bands 2022 single, the ten minute plus 'Epitaph' - and what a ten minutes! 'Epitaph' has everything - a brutal foot stomp, blistering speed, aggressive vocals, incredible head bang ability, and a phenomenal mid section showcasing the bands technical and progressive prowess!
Overall, a heavy hitting and menace fuelled barrage of savage thrash metal, Ominum deliver immense variety in just thirty minutes.
