The Watcher's Spire E.P.

Lost Citadel are a heavy/power metal band from the UK formed in 2023, releasing the bands debut E.P. 'The Watcher's Spire' in 2024.

The band - comprising Daniel Leons-Marder (vocals, keys), John Evered (guitars), Aaron Sharma (guitars), Kerryan Dawson (drums) and Adam Havsky (bass) - meld an old school metal feel with touches of power and modern metal, the bands debut release featuring three heavy hitting and ever so slightly abrasive songs!

And when I say slightly abrasive, I kinda mean brash, bold, rough and tough - yet under all that menacing aura there's a melodious intent that drives the bands music into an infectious and captivating realm! The E.P. opens with the shortest song on offer 'Ambria', the booming first few seconds are so bombastic it just may startle a few listeners! 'Ambria' is up tempo and loaded to the hilt with immense power and energy, and although not that fast paced, there's a definite iconic "metal gallop" shining through.

Remaining at a mid paced swagger, 'The Bad Necromancer' is heavier with added oomph, Lost Citadel taking a meander across the epic and glory genres of heavy metal to deliver an incredibly addictive journey of thunder, fire and brimstone - 'The Watcher's Spire' E.P. beginning to sizzle with a down-tuned power driven metal style coupled with a tonne of elegance and majesty!

Ending the E.P. is the longest song on offer, 'Embers Of Conquest' clocking in at six and a half minutes in length - the band dropping a gear to settle into a mild doom metal march! And I use the term march very lightly indeed, as Lost Citadel remain loaded to the hilt with power and energy, striding tall and proud right through the heart of heavy metal territory. An eye and, ear opening treble from a young band making their first foray into the world of metal - Lost Citadel, remember the name 'cause they're full of promise and definitely a band to watch out for in the future!

Overall, a thundering mid tempo, mid paced gallop of infectious heavy metal, 'The Watcher's Spire' E.P. is an impressive debut release.
