The 3rd Dimension

Hazzerd are a thrash metal band from Canada formed in 2013 releasing their debut E.P. 'Victimize The Innocent' in 2014. After a number of line-up changes the band released their debut full length album 'Misleading Evil' in 2017, touring and performing with the likes of Striker and Vicious Rumors. The bands sophomore album 'Delirium' was released in 2020, with third album 'The 3rd Dimension', emerging in 2025...

...featuring ten songs across a fast and furious forty minutes! And ferocious too - the Canadian thrashers roaring louder than ever to batter everyone with a brutal barrage of savagery, 'Interdimension' storming outta the blocks at a hundred fucking miles an hour! The speed here is incredible, Hazzerd instantly into their stride, surging forth with pace, power and aggression to vigorously bang the head of every single listener everywhere!

A sensational opening to the bands new album, 'Scars' maintains the ferocious nature of the previous song, Hazzerd sending every mosh pit into fucking overdrive with a blistering barrage of head bang ability - I defy anyone not to be rocking their head back and forth right now, 'Scars' demands it! The attractiveness of the (albums) opening brace is superb, reeling in listeners faster than an angler reels in the biggest catch of his life! Insanely infectious as well, 'The 3rd Dimension' entering a more melodic thrash metal realm across 'Unto Ashes' first minute or so, the band soon resuming the all out thrash attack at supersonic speed! Hazzerd are firing on all cylinders right now, the energy driving the band greater than that emitted by the Sun - 'Deathbringer' striding into view boasting the iconic "metal gallop" so synonymous with traditional heavy metal, Hazzerd crossing genre boundaries to deliver a song that's gonna appeal equally to thrashers and metallers! The seamless meld of the two genres is eargasmic, the band opening up their music to a very wide audience indeed.

Now I'm not sure what the title 'T.T.T.' actually stands for, but I reckon "totally thrash-tastic" would be a one hundred percent perfect fit - 'T.T.T.' a one and a half minute mellow yet tension filled instrumental that sits right in the middle, pivotal point of the album. And back in the old days of vinyl records, I reckon 'T.T.T.' would've ended side one, prompting you to turnover to side two in order to continue listening to the album! How times have changed eh - the digital age we now live in, somewhat replacing the need for a record player! Although I still have a record player, as part of a "midi-hi-fi system" I bought back in the eighties - and for my younger readers, a "midi hi-fi system" is a compact, integrated audio system featuring a record player, compact disc player, cassette decks and a radio, all housed together as a stack! And the standalone speakers were often larger than the stack itself! Anyway, back to the matter in hand, or should that be ears! Either way, Hazzerd resume the supersonic thrash metal attack by shuddering the ground with 'Plagueis', every nearby building crumbling into ruins under the immense force radiating from the band - 'The 3rd Dimension' an unabashed and unadulterated thrash metal onslaught, the quirky titled 'ThArSh TiLl DeTh' introducing a little o' the frenetic rawness of punk to the album! Yet there's no loss whatsoever in speed, the band keeping the hammer well and truly down!

And as 'The 3rd Dimension' enters its final furlong, there's absolutely no sign of the blistering pace and power going away anytime soon, 'Parasitic' hurtling outta the gate faster than anything heard so far! The speed is phenomenal, Hazzerd once again stepping over the border wall into traditional metal territory to bring a little NWOBHM to the fore - more specifically the mouth watering guitar tone of the legendary, genre changing evolution. I have been a fan of Hazzerd's since their 2017 full length debut and have seen, or rather heard the band grow and mature into a magnificent thrash metal machine, more than capable of living up to the legacy that fellow Canadian thrashers Exciter, Razor, Sacrifice and Annihilator began forty years ago. Clocking in at over nine minutes in length, 'A Fell Omen' is the longest song on offer by the proverbial country mile - and is a monster of an instrumental! Hazzerd deliver a border crossing, genre hopping, spellbinding nine minutes that'll keep you hooked all the way from the start until the very last second! And rounding the album off, 'Control' hammers the senses like nothing else on offer, the band delivering a thunderous finale to a fierce forty minutes of ferocity driven thrash metal!

Overall, a totally thrash-tastic tsunami of speed and aggression with immense head bang ability, 'The 3rd Dimension' is a superb thrash metal onslaught.
