The Forgotten Souls E.P.

Cornucopia are a thrash metal band from Sweden who've released one album - 'The Seventh Seal' (in 2022), and one E.P. - 'The Forgotten Souls' (in 2024).

The Swedish four-piece - comprising Hannes Wersen (guitars), Albin Janflod (guitars), Alvin Roth (vocals, bass), and Benjamin Roth (drums) - deliver a brand of blistering thrash metal with immense aggression and ferocity - the level of head bang ability through the fucking roof as the five songs on offer hurtle by in just twenty five high velocity minutes! The band bring forth a sound that was prevalent during the mid eighties when bands such as Exodus, Slayer and Kreator were delivering a ferociously savage thrash metal tsunami to a worldwide audience - an unstoppable barrage of speed and aggression with incredible head bang ability! So prepare yourselves readers - this is gonna brutal!

And straight outta the gate, Cornucopia are at full throttle with the E.P.'s opening gambit 'Quinta del sordo' - the pace and urgency unbelievable! And the savage intent is more akin to German thrash metal than either American, British or indeed Swedish - the band delivering an immediate, fast paced and energetic blast that's gonna grab everyone's attentions and not let go! And if you thought that was fast, you ain't heard anything yet as 'Whispers Of Death' opens stealthily before taking off at a hundred fucking miles an hour, Cornucopia stretching their their legs to set a new land speed record! And the similarity in the bands sound to that of Kreator is uncanny! Spooky even! But that ain't a bad thing - hell no! If you're gonna sound like another thrash metal band it may as well be one of the greatest bands in the world! With no sign of Cornucopia slowing down anytime soon, the E.P. roars on faster than ever, 'This War Of Mine' sending every mosh pit around the world into fucking overdrive, every mosher rocking their head back and forth at an extremely high rate of knots - neck muscles stretching to unimaginable limits! And beyond!

Cornucopia have kept the pedal firmly pressed to the metal since the E.P. began, hurtling along the motorvag at phenomenal speeds, 'The Ascent' maintaining the bands barrage of ferocity - aggression too, 'The Ascent' so savage, bones are liable to snap as the Swedish thrash metal machine deliver skull crushing heaviness with no remorse! Merciless too, the fifth and final song on offer 'Silence In Death' clocking in at a massive seven and a half minutes in length! The longest song on offer by a mile, 'Silence In Death' actually slows the pace of the E.P. to a stroll as the band slowly and steadily build a menacing crescendo, Cornucopia foot stomping their way forth to shudder the ground and wobble walls! And when 'Silence In Death' reaches the three minute mark, an electrifying upturn in pace sees, or rather hears 'Silence In Death' accelerate to top speed in the blink of an eye!

Overall, a blistering blast of explosive thrash delivered at incredible speed with tonnes of ferocity and aggression, along with sky high head bang ability.
