Aries Descendant are an internationally based symphonic metal band releasing their debut album 'From The Ashes Of Deceit' in 2024.    
             
Formed by keyboard player Jonah Weingarten (Pyramaze, Prydain, Catalyst Crime) and guitarist Nicklas Sonne (Defecto, Section A, Evil Masquerade), Aries Descendant aims to shatter musical boundaries to deliver a dynamic and immensely elegant blend of symphonic power metal with the intoxicating allure of a film score, in a bold attempt to heighten listeners emotions and pleasures to new (and quite possibly) never before felt levels! And after just the one listen readers, I can categorically, and unequivocally confirm that the band, and 'From The Ashes Of Deceit' has easily achieved its aim!    
             
I say easily, but for the duo of Weingarten and Sonne, it must have been daunting and very hard work, and it's all paid off with forty eight fucking fabulous minutes of stunning symphonic arrangements, magnificent melodies and a level of grandeur higher than "the imperial grandeur of a city", "the majestic grandeur of classical music", and "paintings that capture the beauty and grandeur of landscapes" - 'From The Ashes Of Deceit' delivers unparalleled innovation that's gonna take your breath away in an instant...it did mine!    
             
You know that moment when you're so gobsmacked you can't speak! Well that's exactly how I felt when I heard 'From The Ashes Of Deceit' for the first time - and even after multiple listens my jaw still hits the floor! For me, every subsequent listen is like the first, the stunning array of metal on offer giving me goosebumps, eargasms and heart palpitations! The latter not great for someone who's survived a stroke and suffers from hypertension - but then, heavy metal in all its forms has incredible medicinal properties. It's been well documented that metal music allows listeners to release emotions such as pain, love and rage, as well as helping to cope with the emotions of anger and despair - I know after my stroke I listened to a lot of heavy metal from my youth to inspire me to recover and get better!    
             
And with albums - and bands - such as Aries Descendant maintaining the immense attraction of heavy metal music, there'll always be more than one reason to listen to the greatest genre of music ever! 'From The Ashes Of Deceit' is deserving of more than just a few words from me, it deserves to played in every "gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse" in the world! And more than just the once too, simply because there's so much going on I wouldn't want you to miss a thing - the stunning arrangements, marvellous melodies and the all conquering infectious nature that'll captivate and excite you from minute one right through 'til minute forty eight! This is one album that's highly recommended and deserves a place in every metal fan's collection alongside the likes of Epica, Leaves' Eyes, Nightwish, Rhapsody Of Fire, Therion, Sonata Arctica, and the aforementioned Catalyst Crime.    
             
Overall, a sensational symphonic metal album featuring power, pace, elegance and majesty along with an incredible infectious level.
