Anthrax are a thrash metal band from the USA formed in 1981, releasing (to date) eleven studio albums, seven live albums, numerous singles and music videos, and five compilations. The band, along with Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer - later known as "The Big 4" - pioneered the thrash metal evolution during the mid to late eighties. Anthrax have received a host of accolades from the media throughout their career, including six Grammy nominations and multiple Gold and Platinum certifications.

July 18th 2021 marked the bands forty year milestone in an incredible career. The celebrations began back in May of 2021, culminating in a global livestream event on July 17th/18th, shot at the Los Angeles soundstage/studio The Den. For over two hours, Anthrax performed a set that read like a greatest hits - twenty five songs taken from the bands vast back catalogue.

And now, in 2022, the band will release their celebratory show on CD and DVD - 'XL', featuring the entire show, never-before-seen rehearsal footage, and Scott Ian's New York City "walking tour" pointing out the spots that played a role in Anthrax's formation and history.

"even though we were performing in a studio with just the crew there, we played that set like we were in front of 50,000 screaming fans", said vocalist Joey Belladonna.

So whether you're an Anthrax first-timer, or an old-timer, 'XL' is a two hour thrash fest from one of the greatest thrash metal bands ever! And a performance that will thrill and excite, as the band perform many of their best known songs - 'Madhouse', 'Caught In A Mosh', 'Got The Time', 'Among The Living', 'Indians', and many many more.

And the story of Anthrax is far from over - the band currently on tour in America, with a planned autumn tour of the UK and Europe to come, along with writing for a new album. So if it's thrash you're after, look no further than one of the legends of the genre - Anthrax.

Overall, a fabulous twenty five song thrash fest from one of the worlds greatest ever thrash metal bands.
