King Of Gods

Aeon Gods are a symphonic power metal band from Germany founded in 2022 by Anja and Alex Hunzinger following the dissolution of symphonic metal band Aeternitas - the duo taking their former bands sound and elevating it to the next level, incorporating cinematic elements within Aeon Gods' root symphonic power metal elegance. The bands debut album 'King Of Gods' was released in 2024...

...featuring ten songs across forty eight minutes - that's forty eight minutes of fast paced symphonic power metal alongside mid tempo anthemic marches and hymn-like balladry, the band standing tall and proud across a multitude of genres to deliver a highly infectious and immensely melodious album. Opener 'Sun-God' blasts off at incredible speed, charging outta the blocks faster than the speed of light - which at 186,000 miles per second is fast, very fast! 'Sun-God' is unstoppable, Aeon Gods defying every law of physics and motion to shudder the ground they hurtle over, every listener everywhere rocking their heads back and forth at an extreme rate of knots! A sensational opening salvo, and one that's gonna make a worldwide audience immediately sit up and take notice of this whirlwind coming outta Lubeck.

Just how does anyone follow that! By keeping the foot to the floor and racing on even faster, the title song 'King Of Gods' a scorching hot tsunami of astonishing speed, power and precision - Aeon Gods delivering a jaw dropping opening one-two to take everyone's breath away! And in the blink of an eye too, the band launching their debut release with a stunning double - which becomes a stunning treble as the bands self titled song 'Aeon Gods' enters the fray with all the power metal muscle of American anthemic metal legends Manowar. The ground shakes, walls wobble and buildings crumble into ruins as 'Aeon Gods' swings by harder than a wrecking ball in full flight, Aeon Gods filling the air with a rabble rousing, call to arms atmosphere that's gonna have everyone drooling! Stunning stuff from the German metallers, the band powering on with the heavy/power metal inspired 'Babylon Burning', the bands symphonic come cinematic leanings shining through the brightest since the album began! Brighter than a thousand suns one could say, and just as hot too, Aeon Gods a new force to be reckoned with in the power metal arena.

Every song on offer is between four and five minutes in length, paving the way for a quick moving album with little or no time for a breather, the band surging forth with 'The Flood' trilogy - the first part 'Enlil's Commandments (The Flood Pt. 1)', raising the elegance levels to new heights, the pace and power of the album remaining at full throttle! There's been some sensational symphonic power metal albums recently, 'King Of Gods' (the album) right up there with each and every one of them - Aeon Gods forcing their way into the running for Album Of The Year. The band hit the brakes hard for 'Nintu's Lament (The Flood Pt. 2)', keyboards and soulful vocals taking centre stage as the band stop sprinting and just take a stroll, every listener, fan and follower around the world welcoming this opportunity for a breather - 'cause I think we all know don't we, that power and pace is not too far away! Power for sure, 'Enki's Grace (The Flood Pt. 3)'s first four seconds highly reminiscent of iconic British metallers Iron Maiden, Aeon Gods resuming the mighty anthemic thunder heard earlier, the gorgeous guitar tone whetting more than just appetites!

And after that tremendous pace changing tempo changing story telling trilogy, 'The Descent' returns blistering pace to the fore, Aeon Gods surging on with enough energy to power the fucking sun! The planet by the way and not the British newspaper, just to clarify - 'Monsters Of Tiamat' melding anthemic leanings with a definite mid tempo traditional metal gallop, the band continuing to mix different styles of metal into their symphonic power metal roots. The bands following is increasing minute by minute, with fans of a myriad of genres joining the legions of followers Aeon Gods already have, the bands music reaching far and very wide! And bringing a superb album to a close, 'Tablet Of Destinies' ends 'King Of Gods' (the album) as it began - in a flurry of foot to the floor, barnstorming power metal with top level pace, purpose and intent. Aeon Gods, remember their name as they're definitely a band to look out for.

Overall, a sensational album of fast paced symphonic power metal with a mighty anthemic feel and tonnes of head bang ability.
