Reign In Terror

Villainizer are a thrash metal band from Canada, formed in 2010, releasing their debut album 'I Bomb New York' in 2011. The bands sophomore album 'Reign In Terror' was released in 2013...

...and is a blatant reference to Slayer's 1986 seminal album 'Reign In Blood'. Opening with 'Chant', an eerie, moody instrumental, the band puts in your mind an image of hooded figures walking through a deserted graveyard late at night...chanting! And then opening song proper 'Turbanator', comes flying at you at over one hundred miles an hour, Villainizer pressing the pedal firmly to the metal with immense aggression and speed! Full of pace and power, 'Turbanator' is an electrifying head banger, and will have mosh pits everywhere in a frenzied state of excitement - the two minute instrumental 'Bomberman' maintaining the electrifying pace, building an irresistible level of tension ready for 'Random Act Of Violence' to come storming in!

And when I say storming in, I mean with more aggression than heard previously, the band on a mighty roll as 'Random Act Of Violence' rampages fiercely across the land! The speed here is incredible, and the intensity phenomenal - Villainizer delivering a couple of high velocity neck breakers! The album has begun in ferocious fashion with outstanding pace, but it's time now for the band to hit the brakes, replacing full throttle thrash with a mid tempo Megadeth style stomp - 'Twin Tower Two Step' lurching into view with snarling vocals. Villainizer retain the high aggression levels heard so far, pounding the ground with formidable force, the all out thrash metal barrage continuing with the pace changing 'The Magic Lamp'. The band storm through the gears here, first up then down, then up again! And eventually, 'The Magic Lamp' becomes a blazing full on fire and brimstone romp that'll have heads banging harder than at any other point on the album so far!

The speed at which Villainizer deliver their brand of thrash is incredible - 'Terror Abraxas' keeping the high speed charge going, but only after a one minute mellow lead in! Head banging is gonna be of the most vigorous nature when 'Terror Abraxas' gets going, with extreme caution advised. You have been warned readers, it's your neck that's gonna snap not mine! There's just no escaping the bands all out, full on assault, 'Re-Bomberman' is 'Bomberman' sort of reprised, Villainizer adding a whole extra minute to its run time! And then comes the albums final hurrah, a brilliant "cover" of Slayer's 'Raining Blood' - renamed 'Raining Bombs', and with replacement lyrics too! The band keep to the pace of the original, the menace and aggression too, ending the album just as ferociously as it began!

Overall, an album full of powerful, fast paced thrash that will keep fans happy and head banging for a long time.
