Paradiser E.P.

Venator are a heavy metal band from Austria formed in 2016, with their debut release, the three song E.P. 'Paradiser', released in 2020.

Fifteen minutes and three songs - the debut release from Austrian metallers Venator, is full of bombastic energy, and positively sizzles from beginning to end. A beginning that err, begins, with the title song 'Paradiser', flying at you with pace. Very much a traditional "foot on the monitor" gallop, 'Paradiser' (the song) is a cracking first impression.

The amount of energy Venator ooze over the course of just three songs is incredible, and I would imagine their live shows are just electric. Second song on offer 'Blind Ambition', is a more melodic offering than the first, but boy oh boy does it have party anthem written all over it. The phrase "get the party started" could have been made for 'Blind Ambition', with fans of both metal and rock jumping for joy at this one.

The infectious and sing along ability of 'Blind Ambition' continues in earnest with the third and sadly final song on offer, 'Creatures Of The Sea'. I say sadly because this has been one helluva introduction by the band - and it's a real shame there's only three songs to enjoy. 'Creatures Of The Sea' is the heaviest song on offer, yet manages to retain a huge melodic feel.

Overall, a cracking debut from a new band, showing their intentions to deliver catchy, infectious and highly addictive heavy metal.
