Tomorrow & Yesterday E.P.

TOWER are a hard rock band from the USA formed in 2015, releasing their self titled debut album in 2016. The four song E.P. 'Tomorrow & Yesterday' was released in 2019.

Heavy hitting and bombastic hard rock/heavy metal with powerful female vocals - TOWER deliver an emphatic and punchy sonic assault. The bands latest release, the four song E.P. 'Tomorrow & Yesterday', is a hard hitting, bowl you over, frantic fury. From the moment opener 'Run For Your Life' thunders into view, you know this is gonna be good. The brand of hard rock that TOWER deliver is very much borderline heavy metal - with 'Run For Your Life' a fast paced "foot on the monitor" styled gallop.

The ante is upped with 'Leaving Today' - slightly slower than 'Run For Your Life' but just as punchy, delivering a bold and brash, energetic and infectious aural pleasure. Lead singer Sarabeth Linden has a phenomenal voice, soaring high and displaying an operatic style similar to iconic legend Bruce Dickinson (and for those who don't know him, he's the lead singer for British heavy metal pioneers Iron Maiden). 'Misery' is a ballsy thunderstorm of heaviness, yet manages to deliver a more melodic experience than the opening double salvo. I think TOWER need to change their bio from a "hard rock band" to a "heavy metal band"...

...such is the pace, tempo and all out gallop of the songs on the E.P. with the final song 'Dead Or Alive' delivered at a fast pace that will outrun any hard rock band. TOWER are, in my book, a heavy metal band - in terms of the vocals, the pace and all out thundering rhythms. 'Dead Or Alive' is gonna invoke head banging of a vigorous nature, as all the songs on offer have done. This release has been one helluva surprise - definitely a lot heavier, and more metal than I expected.

Overall, galloping "foot on the monitor" heavy metal, complimented with a powerful female vocal performance, this E.P. is a cracker.
