Never Surrender

Titans Rage are a heavy metal band from France, releasing their debut album 'Never Surrender' in 2022.

And what an album it is! Ten songs across forty eight heavy hitting minutes - the band in fine form from start to finish. The energy, the oomph, the intensity...all at sky high levels - with album opener (and title song) 'Never Surrender' exploding ferociously into life and storming off at high velocity. The mix of traditional heavy metal with a few nuances of power metal make for an exciting listen - and that's exactly where 'Never Surrender' (the song) comes at ya from! The speed is incredible, the band taking you by surprise with the sheer energy and oomph on show - what a phenomenal opening shot!

And the second shot! Punchy, crunchy, and an all out anthemic foot stomper - 'Saints Of Hell' dropping a gear or two and plodding on with just a little hint of menace. Titans Rage have hit very hard with the albums opening two songs, yet in massively different ways - scorching speed and foot stomping venom. Lord only knows what's coming next! 'Amon Is Alive' is next, ambling into life, swinging a baseball bat, and giving you a bloody great thwack around the head. It's heavy, it's menacing, and full of enough pace and tempo changes to keep you guessing where it's going next. The band ooze a sound that is kind of American in nature - think the country's power driven muscular style of metal and you'll get what I mean. 'War Child' is the most melodious of all the songs heard so far, and is a masterful mid tempo swagger with a glorious sing a long style chorus.

A rumbling thunderstorm approaches in the sinister shape of 'Welcome To My Hell', a decidedly dark and menacing feel descending on the album - the band very good at mood swings and changes. With the amount of fear loaded into 'Welcome To My Hell', some listeners may dive for cover and the relative safety of hiding behind the couch! Titans Rage return some form of pace as 'Remember This Time' opens, changing through the gears as it gets going - slowing down and speeding up many times until the end. Maintaining the albums preference for mid to high tempo pace changing anthems, 'Higher' has passages of blistering speed mixed with a mighty foot stomp so heavy the ground fucking shakes!

Opening to the sound of emergency services, 'Cry For The Nation' is anthemic heavy metal with one of the biggest melodic streaks ever! Foot stomping and punching hard, the band will have fans, followers and listeners raising their fists high in the air. Titans Rage pay tribute to the one and only Ian Fraser Kilmister - better known as Lemmy (R.I.P.), frontman for the legendary Motorhead, with (the simply titled) 'Lemmy'. And boy do they do a great job - upping the pace, energy and intensity to such levels that 'Lemmy' actually sounds like Motorhead. And the band also include one of Lemmy's classic quotes too! The band return to the pace of earlier for the albums final hurrah 'The Kraken' - and a pummelling "foot on the monitor" gallop akin to traditional metal. Titans Rage maintaining their wander around the heavy metal genre from minute one to minute forty eight.

Overall, a mid to high tempo pace changing avalanche of heavy metal, 'Never Surrender' is anthemic, infectious, and highly head bang-able.
