A Story To Tell |
||||||
Timeless Fairytale are a European based melodic metal band formed in 2023, releasing the bands debut album 'A Story To Tell' in 2024...
...featuring nine songs across an amazing storytelling-like forty eight minutes! That's forty eight minutes of immensely melodic, symphonic power metal, the band line-up consisting of four musicians who have a history of performing in other bands - singer Henrik Brockmann (ex Evil Masquerade, ex Royal Hunt), guitarist and keyboardist Luca Sellitto (Stamina, Marco Garau's Magic Opera), bassist Carmine Vivo (Stamina), and drummer Viktor Enebjorn (Forever Still). The band ooze a phenomenal level of majesty and elegance, 'A Story To Tell' strolling into life with the crescendo building, anticipation fuelled three and a half minute instrumental intro 'Entering The Fairytale', setting the scene for album opener 'Forever And A Day' to come trotting in on the crest of a melodic power metal wave, the band also echoing the iconic "gallop" of traditional heavy metal! 'Forever And A Day' is immensely elegant, majestic too, Timeless Fairytale swanning around like they own the place - and right now they do! And for the next forty minutes also I reckon, the album storming on with the heavier 'New Dawn'.
And faster too, the band increasing the pace to a highly attractive head banging one, 'New Dawn' a fist pumping, heart racing romp of foot to the floor metal - Timeless Fairytale living up to the expectations of the four seasoned and highly experienced musicians on show. 'Master Of Illusion' enters the fray with what I can only describe as a Southern rock swagger, a metalized Southern rock swagger oozing a bounciness that's gonna have every listener smiling from ear to ear with feet tapping and heads nodding in perfect harmony with the band! What an attractive and immensely infectious threesome to announce your arrival onto the world metal scene, Timeless Fairytale moving quickly on with increased pace and power courtesy of the red hot scorching 'Emptiness'. The speed here is head bang-able to the max, the blend of symphonic and power metal attracting a very wide audience, an audience that's surely gonna fall for the band in a fucking big way! 'Cause the attraction of Timeless Fairytale and 'A Story To Tell' is huge, the European based band delivering top shelf metal music.
The title song 'A Story To Tell' opens in the mellowest and most serene way of any song heard so far, the feeling pouring outta the album right now is that of an impending ballad - which duly arrives after the minute mark, as full blown balladry takes front and centre. So raise your lighters high and sway from side as Timeless Fairytale gently stroll on by - and at over seven minutes in length 'A Story To Tell' (the song) is easily the longest song on offer and one helluva stroll! 'The Best Part Of Your Life' immediately returns barnstorming power and pace to the fore, the band at their most majestic here, planting one foot on the monitor to adopt the iconic pose, and poise, of traditional heavy metal, every listener rocking their head back and forth at a highly energetic rate of knots. And that includes me too, for 'The Best Part Of Your Life' is just the right kinda metal I could easily listen to twenty-four hours seven days a week! And keeping that kinda metal front and centre, Timeless Fairytale storm on with 'Forsaken Dream', the levels of energy, oomph and oof, all turned up to maximum, 'A Story To Tell' (the album) maintaining an immense magnetism that's not letting go of listeners just yet!
Probably 'cause there's still two more songs remaining, the first of which 'The Last Chance', features a more hustle and bustle feel than any other song on offer, the band blending their smooth, polished side with a more abrasive one! That said, 'The Last Chance' doesn't lose any of the albums overall grip on the ears of listeners, if anything, it's much tighter now! And with a bolder majesty than heard anywhere else, 'Trust Your Heart' strides in with the beefiest attitude out of all the nine songs on 'A Story To Tell' (the album), Timeless Fairytale continuing to tinker with their sound in order to find a winning formula. Well I got good news for you guys - you've found it! And to round off the album, the one minute instrumental outro 'Farewell Fairytale' has all the panache of a "thank you and goodnight" theatre ending.
Overall, an energetic, fast paced and highly infectious album of symphonic power metal with an incredible melodious intent.
