Generation Me

The Treatment are a classic rock band from the UK formed in 2008 releasing their debut album in 2011 and the follow-up in 2014. With a couple of line-up changes, including a new singer, The Treatment will release their third album in 2016.

'Let It Begin' opens the new album in energetic and bombastic style, very hard rocking with a feel good vibe to it. Addictive, it will have you tapping your feet and reaching for the lyric booklet so you can sing along. Punchy and hard hitting 'The Devil' will smack you upside your head as it smashes a path through the airwaves. Very powerful vocals that just ooze power and confidence. Foot tappingly addictive, The Treatment are heavier than their "classic rock" description would have you believe. Picking up the pace and rocking harder than a boat in rough seas 'Tell Us The Truth' is a head banger of a tune with a catchy, sing a long chorus. Title song 'Generation Me' reminds me of the good old sleaze metal days when the likes of Faster Pussycat, Hanoi Rocks and Ratt were setting the world alight with their brand of punchy, hard edged, hard hitting rock that oozed infectiousness. Memorable grooves and addictive rhythms with catchy choruses. 'Generation Me' is anthemic and sing along and will definitely get the party going.

Ahh, here comes the classic rock style, in the form of 'Backseat Heartbeat'. Mellow and melodious 'Backseat Heartbeat' is easily comparable to the rock style of legends Bon Jovi and Aerosmith. Another punchy song 'Cry Tough' will band your head hard with a high attitude level and in your face vibe. The bands new singer has an awesome range and seems able to effortlessly adapt his delivery. You'd be forgiven for thinking that a song with a title such as 'We Are Beautiful' was a ballad. Instead it is a catchy and raucous slab of hard rock. i really do think The Treatment need to remove their "classic rock" tag from their description and describe themselves as "hard edged hard rock".

Stripped down hard rock and you have 'I Know She Knows' knocking at the door to the heavy rock genre. Top notch vocals and an insatiable rhythm propel the song forward at a pace that makes way for gentle head banging and hard foot tapping. Foot stomping hard rock with attitude 'Bloodsucker' hits you square in the face. With hints of Alice Cooper thrown in, 'Bloodsucker' will surely become a live favourite especially the chant the crows will do during the chorus of the title. With so many diverse influences it is difficult to pigeon hole a band such as The Treatment, but for now let's just enjoy their raucous, fierce and relentless hard rock style in the shape of 'Better Think Again'. Gentle but hard foot tapping and head banging is the order of the day, with an anthemic style chorus to sing along to. This is a unique album full of full-on rock songs, up beat rhythms and catchy chorus lines that it is a shame that it has to end, but hey, you can always play it again... The album does, however, end as it began, with a blast of energetic and bombastic rock by way of 'Light The Sun'. Catchy and addictive, 'Light The Sun' is a cracking end to a cracking album.

Overall, hard hitting and hard edged hard rock from a band full of energy and passion, every song just oozes with infectiousness.
