Voices And Visions E.P. |
||||||
The Generations Army are a thrash metal band from Sweden formed in 2014, releasing their debut album 'Still Screaming' in 2017. The bands second offering is the four song E.P. 'Voices And Visions', due for release in 2018.
The E.P. gets underway with the two minute atmospheric 'Inhale', that builds heavily to a crescendo for the second song 'Exhale' to launch forth with an avalanche of buzzing guitar riffs. Sounding like Metallica wannabees, The Generations Army deliver the kind of thrash metal that was prevalent during the late eighties. The bands singer delivers an aggressive and in your face vocal style, the music powering on purposefully, with heads just a blur as metal heads the world over head bang furiously.
The six minutes plus 'The Vigilant' continues the heavy barrage of thrash metal, the buzzing guitar sound addictive and infectious. Heads will continue to nod hard as feet now start stomping too, with the mosh pit becoming a frenzied fury. The catchiness of 'The Vigilant' is instant, the vocal style a little less aggressive than 'Exhale'.
The four song E.P. is brought to a close with the title song 'Voices And Visions', punk rock fuelled as it hurtles along at top speed. The Generations Army incorporate elements of bands such as UK legends Motorhead, American thrashers Megadeth and Anthrax and German thrash masters Kreator into 'Voices And Visions', a release that is memorable for all the right reasons.
Overall, out and out head bangingly addictive thrash metal, delivered at a blisteringly high pace.
