Key To Your Kingdom

Tezza F are a power metal band from Italy founded in 2006 by multi-instrumentalist Filippo "Fil" Tezza (Silence Oath, Chronosfear, ex Soul Guardian) - the band releasing three albums to date - 'The Message (...A Story Of Agony, Hope And Faith...)' (2013), 'A Shelter From Existence' (2018), and 'Key To Your Kingdom' (2024).

Wishing to write in a more symphonic/progressive metal style than his old band Soul Guardian, Tezza formed his one-man project Tezza F - and following a couple of demo's in 2006 and 2008, the bands first full length album was released in 2013, with the more elaborate and power prog orientated sophomore album emerging five years later. And now comes the bands third album, a fifty minute symphonic power metal masterpiece featuring a fifteen minute show stopping finale - more on that later! For right here, right now, 'Key To Your Kingdom' rockets into life with the explosive (album opener) 'The Fire Still Burns'. And an immediate head bang ability to vigorously rock listeners heads back and forth at an extreme rate of knots!

Turning heads with a barnstorming opening salvo, Tezza F keep the pedal firmly pressed to the metal with the blistering 'Voices', perfectly melding the bands power metal roots with traditional, old school "foot on the monitor" heavy metal! The energy and oomph across the albums opening brace has been sky fucking high, the Italian band roaring round metal territory with intense purpose and drive. And without missing a beat, 'Key To Your Kingdom' storms relentlessly on, 'Dead Roses' pounding the ground with immense force! Not to mention the levels of energy and oomph (again) - both of them phenomenally high! European power metal has graced my world for over four decades when the likes of Accept, Grave Digger, Helloween, Rage and Running Wild burst onto the metal scene - Tezza F more than living up to these legendary bands legacy! The title song 'Key To Your Kingdom' enters the fray as the fastest song heard so far, the head bang ability shooting right through the fucking roof! The urgency here is sensational, the band roaring down the autostrada faster than the speed of light - which at a hundred and eighty-six thousand miles a hour is fast! Very fast!

And still with no let up in pace, power or purpose, Tezza F roar on at high velocity courtesy of the red hot scorching 'Cold Rain' - the band an unadulterated and unabashed power metal machine! You know how sometimes an album emerges that just blows you away - well here's the latest one to do just that! The third album from the Italian metal powerhouse is electrifying, the mellow strains of an impending ballad coming forth with 'Endless Night' - the band creating a staggering mix of balladry and hymn-like swagger! Feel free to raise your lighters high in the air and sway from side to side as 'Endless Night' strolls on by. And with amazing contrast, 'Moonlight Chant' explodes furiously into life, racing on with immense head bang ability and an urgency that tops anything heard previously. The band are in their element here, delivering red hot, speedy power metal featuring an infectious level second to none - and as 'Key To Your Kingdom' (the album) heads toward its final hurrah, has Tezza F soared into contention for Album Of The Year! Methinks very much so!

And from the shortest song on offer - 'Moonlight Chant' clocking in at under four minutes in length - we arrive at the longest, the fifteen minute show stopping finale 'For Death Or Glory'. And what a finale! The mellow build up belies the blistering pace to come at the two minute mark, Tezza F resuming the foot to the floor foot on the monitor metal featured everywhere else on 'Key To Your Kingdom' (the album) - the band venturing into the realms of the epic, glory and hymn-like styles of metal as 'For Death Or Glory' makes its highly elegant and majestic journey to a conclusion.

Overall, pace and power combine perfectly as Tezza F roar through every song on offer displaying immense head bang ability and a sky high infectious level.
