Wake Up E.P. |
||||||
Syteria are a rock band from the UK formed in 2015 who released their first single the same year. 2016 saw the release of their 'Wake Up' E.P.
Four girls, all from the north of England, playing old school classic rock. Oh yes. One quarter of the band is the guitarist from legendary British icons Girlschool, but if you are expecting a punk edged heavy metal E.P. ... think again. 'Reflections' is first up and is an immediate hit, with a melodic yet very catchy rhythm that will easily have you nodding your head and tapping your feet. The chorus is sing a long and the entire song has a feel good party vibe attached to it.
Picking up the pace and bristling with energy 'Model Citizen' packs a punch as it rocks and rolls on its way. Even more catchy than the opening song, the grooves are infectious and the vocals are well suited to this type of music. Where these girls get their energy from I don't quite know exactly, but 'High School' is set to explode with the amount of high intensity energy that it exhibits. Sparkling guitar work and a varied, adapted vocal delivery keeps 'High School' chugging along nicely.
Overall, energetic and infectious, three songs that will raise your spirits, put a smile on your face and make you feel good for a long time.
