Highway Homicide E.P. |
||||||
Steel Road are an internationally based heavy metal band formed in 2021, made up of members from both Britain and America. The bands debut release, the five song E.P. 'Highway Homicide', was released in 2023.
Featuring a sound akin to that of traditional heavy metal, Steel Road pummel listeners for twenty "foot on the monitor" minutes - every song on offer highly infectious and thoroughly head bang-able! The title song 'Highway Homicide' launches the E.P. in fast and furious fashion, blazing a fiery trail as it emanates everything great about traditional heavy metal. The vocals are a little gruff, but that just adds to the earthly, raw sound of the band, Steel Road hammering the senses with purpose and passion.
After a storming start, the band remain in full flight, the iconic traditional metal gallop rising to the surface as 'The Last Straw' powers on, taking no prisoners, bashing listeners round the head! So get your heads moving readers, back and forth in a frantic motion, and raise your fists high in the air to salute a cracking opening double. Entering the realm of anthemic heavy metal, Steel Road pound the ground with 'Too Little Too Late' - an earth shuddering foot stomper of immense heaviness! Eat your hearts out bands such as Saxon, Sabaton and Manowar, there's a new anthemic metaller in town!
And we're straight back to pulsating pace, with the full on and in your face 'Mind Shaker', the most infectious song heard so far! Hell, they've all been infectious, but 'Mind Shaker' has that something extra - more energy, oomph, or bombast. Take your pick! But all too soon the final song arrives - 'The End Of The Line' the only song out of the five on offer to exceed five minutes in length! The band are hustling and bustling here, the classic sound of old school metal rising high in the air - replete with the famous metal gallop. This is a five song fury that's gonna be replayed time and time again.
Overall, a twenty minute traditional heavy metal gallop, Steel Road deliver an infectious and highly head bang-able ride.
