Enemy Of Conformity |
||||||
Stagewreck are a heavy metal band from the USA with influences as varied as Venom, Motorhead, The Sex Pistols and Iron Maiden.
'Enemy Of Conformity' is the debut release from Stagewreck and is as musically varied as its influences. Each of the four songs on offer here hints at a different style, appealing to a wide and diverse audience. 'Execution's At Dawn' storms in after a short, chilling, spoken word intro and rattles along at pace, sounding like the great thrash metal bands from the late eighties. Blistering guitars and thunderous drums, this is a nostalgic head nod back to the glory days of thrash.
'Nuclear Attitude' is a raw, foot stomping, punk tinged romp that flies by like an out of control freight train. Attitude laden with an "in your face" and "get outta my way or be crushed" feel to it, this is an excellent song. 'Injustice We Trust' has the classic traditional metal sound, with a guitar intro that would grace any eighties NWOBHM album. Full of pace with excellent guitar work, a thunderous rhythm and a screaming guitar solo, this is old school heavy metal played the way it should be played - with absolute passion.
'Night Widow...A Taste Of Poison' has a meandering guitar intro that gives way to a chugging guitar rhythm and at a mid tempo pace is reminiscent of the catchy melodic rock of Saxon and at over six minutes in length, the musical talents of the band shine through.
Overall, varied and diverse, this is a thrash, punk and heavy metal romp that will please die hard metal fans everywhere.
