Sentience E.P.

Skarlett Riot are a hard rock band from the UK formed in 2010 who have just released their new 'Sentience' E.P.

The female fronted hard rock band have made a name for themselves with a style that is hard hitting and punchy. 'Voices' is a bombastic opener, thunderous in its approach with a catchy, sing a long style chorus and a superb vocal performance. Buzzing guitars add to the punchiness of the galloping rhythms, with an involuntary need to nod your head and tap your feet. 'Scream At Me' is ballsy, up tempo and mildly aggressive. Not sure if the title is a question or a statement, but either way, I would scream. I can just imagine the entire audience in a live arena screaming along to the chorus. The chopping guitar style is in full flow as 'Empty Inside' rattles into life, slightly moodier and darker than the opening songs, but still a cracking hard rock song.

The up tempo nature of this E.P. makes for a pleasurable listen with Skarlett Riot making their mark in the hard rock genre. Live performances are energetic and lively with the band already amassing a huge following. A chainsaw buzz style riff brings 'Feel' to life and all the way through, the guitar sound is one of just awesomeness. The vocal range of the singer is stretched, with the soaring vocals hitting near operatic levels. Bringing the E.P. to a close is the punchy 'The Wounded', displaying what has become the signature sound of Skarlett Riot...energetic and bombastic up tempo hard rock.

Overall, bombastic, energetic and lively, this E.P. is packed to the rafters with exciting, up tempo hard rock.
