In Victory

SINSID are a heavy metal band from Norway formed in 2012, releasing their debut album 'Mission From Hell' in 2018. The bands sophomore album 'Enter The Gates' emerged two years later in 2020, with third album 'In Victory' released (coincidentally two years later) in 2022.

Featuring nine songs of unabashed and unrelenting old school heavy metal, SINSID's new album is forty two, highly head bang-able minutes long. The two minute intro 'The Northern March' is keyboard led and gently eases you in to the new album, building a highly charged atmosphere of anticipation - that is heartily satisfied by the thundering 'Iron Heart'. Taking a little over a minute to wind up to full speed and tempo, 'Iron Heart' is an energetic and galloping rampage of traditional heavy metal. SINSID then proceed to deliver a brand new anthem for the worlds metal heads, in the mighty shape of 'Metalheads'. A fast and furious bruiser, 'Metalheads' is infectious, and portrays a rabble rousing call to arms nature much stronger than many other anthems. The chorus alone is a cracker, with the likes of Manowar wishing they'd written it, rather than their lacklustre 'Manowarriors'. So get yourselves ready to sing, scream and screech "metalheads" as loud as you possibly can!

A thundering opening double salvo suddenly hits the brakes for 'Secret Of The Beast' - for the first minute or so anyway! The more mellow intro evolving a thunderous foot stomping attitude as 'Secret Of The Beast' gets going proper - continuing to swing back and forth as it marches on to a conclusion. Title song 'In Victory' features the classic "foot on the monitor" feel of traditional heavy metal, nodding its head back to a time of glorious evolution for metal. Of course I'm talking about the eighties - a decade I was fortunate to have been a part of, maturing as a teenager, listening to the greats such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Saxon define the sound of heavy metal. SINSID may reside on mainland Europe, fifteen hundred miles away from the UK, and be forty years after metals greatest evolution, but boy do they deliver a heavy touch of the old days. A more mid tempo pace rises to the surface for the power heavy 'No Fear', introducing a highly menacing feel not heard so far - SINSID showing their prowess at delivering varying styles of metal. And at over six minutes in length, 'No Fear' is the longest song on offer.

Although 'Wrath Of Destruction' comes a very close second - chiming in at a little under six minutes! And 'Wrath Of Destruction' maintains the menace of the previous song too. More thunder is present though, the band a ground shuddering force of nature. A force of nature that suddenly whips up a ferocious storm with the frenzied 'Headless Grinder'. The best song on offer by a million miles, 'Headless Grinder' will smack you repeatedly round the head, and then bandage your bruises! It is melodic, it is heavy, it is marvellous. 'Headless Grinder' will go down an absolute storm in a live arena, with every concert goer screaming "headless grinder" as though they're trying to summon some sort of demonic overlord! The album is brought to a close with the mid tempo mid paced traditional metaller 'Cult Of Doom (Into The Fire)', projecting a majestic swagger as it sidles on by.

Overall, a fiery romp of very heavy traditional metal, SINSID deliver an infectious forty two minutes of head bang ability.
