SiN69 |
||||||
SiN69 are a hard rock band from Switzerland formed in 2020 by four former members of rock band Circle - guitarist Beat Hefti, bass player Pesche Liechti, and singers Marina Schaller, and Thomas Schaller. The band is completed by King Louis drummer Charles Monroe and Emerald guitarist Michael Vaucher. The bands self titled debut album was released in 2022...
...and features eight hard rocking songs across a bombastic thirty three minutes. Opening with the up tempo and highly energetic 'Guardian Angel', SiN69 are quickly firing on all cylinders, pummelling the senses with a heavy hitting, roaring rhythm that's gonna make listeners sit up and take notice. An immediate like, 'Guardian Angel' stands proudly on the bridge between rock and metal, attracting fans from both genres to the bands throbbing sound. After such a good start, the album simply gets better, with the higher tempo and more lively 'Around The World'. Taking a more hard rocking ambience, 'Around The World' blazes a fiery trail of head nodding, foot tapping compliance - for everyone everywhere will involuntarily find their heads and feet moving in rhythmic synchronisation. What a belter of an opening double.
Keeping the energy high but slowing the tempo a tad, 'Hang It Up' is a heavier offering than the two previous songs. Still standing on the bridge between the rock and metal genres, the band pound the senses with an intoxicating thunder that'll keep your head moving back and forth. SiN69 describe themselves as a hard rock band - but they're definitely knocking at the door to the heavy metal genre...just like Def Leppard did during their formative years, when they were placed under the banner of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal! And with an injection of pace, the band roar louder than ever with the barnstorming 'Angels Crying'. The heaviest and fastest song heard so far, 'Angels Crying' is a boundary breaker, as SiN69 move along the bridge towards heavy metal territory. And talking of heavy metal territory - the band echo the sound of metal legends Iron Maiden, and more specifically 'Where The Wild Wind Blows' (from the bands 2010 album 'The Final Frontier'). SiN69's 'Cowboy' shares more than just a passing resemblance to Maiden's epic eleven minute album closer!
Picking up the tempo and pulverizing everything in sight, 'Evil's Place' is a thunderous romp of rock come metal - which has quickly become the bands signature sound. SiN69 definitely sitting, or should that be standing, at the heavier end of the hard rock genre. 'Circle Of Rock' opens as though it's gonna roar off at high velocity - but suddenly adopts a mellower tone similar to a ballad come hymn-like stroll. And then we're treated to a tempo changing hard rock meander, as the band run around the entire rock genre to deliver one of those "not knowing where it's gonna turn next" scenarios. And as 'Circle Of Rock' progresses, there's a definite hint at the sound of British rock stalwarts Dire Straits. 'Stop Fighting' is the final song on the album, an album that ends way too early. 'Cause this is a hard rocking romp that needs to be played and played, and played again! It's too good a listening experience to last just half an hour! The pace and tempo of 'Stop Fighting' is as high as it's ever been, SiN69 ending their debut offering with an absolute barnstormer.
Overall, a hard hitting half hour of energy and fizz, SiN69 have made a huge impact with their debut album.
