Demonizer E.P.

Scrying Mirror are a female fronted alternative metal band from Germany formed in 2017, releasing the four song E.P. 'Demonizer' in 2020.

Featuring a heavy hitting sound more akin to the heavy rock genre, the German four piece make you sit up and take notice with their explosive debut release. The bands E.P. punches hard with lots of crunch, and an intensity that comes hurtling at you straight from thrash metal territory. First song up is 'Observer Of Time'. Immediately into its stride, 'Observer Of Time' displays an aggressive propelled rhythm and scorching riffs. 'Observer Of Time' is a head turner, with the backing vocals consisting of death metal growls, and oh boy I didn't expect those...

...but they're a good twist, and no way out of place, fitting in with the bands sound perfectly. 'Image In The Sand' is more mid paced, but does heavy things a bit, the growling backing vocals still present. Definitely displaying a darker mood, 'Image In The Sand' is a mid tempo, menacing foot stomp, that starts running at the half way point. And, the growled vocals may just scare a few listeners, especially those of a nervous disposition.

'Face Me' is brash and bold, stomping forth like it has a point to prove. Pace changing, mood swinging and buzzing riffage - 'Face Me' is chameleon like as it stomps forward. Pace quickens as 'Reach For The Stars' explodes into life, racing off at high speed. Slowing a little for the chant style sing a long chorus, 'Reach For The Stars' has the attitude and aggression of thrash. An exciting debut release from a new band, with their debut album planned for a 2021 release.

Overall, a four song thunderstorm, displaying a dark and mean vibe, 'Demonizer' E.P. is a cracking prelude to the bands coming (in 2021) debut album.
