Fatal Destroyer

Scared To Death are a thrash metal band from Germany formed in 2006 releasing their debut album in 2008. Their second album, 'Fatal Destroyer' was released in 2014.

'Mind Invaders' opens the album in thunderous style, rattling along at top speed with some cracking guitar riffing. The gruff vocal style really suits the songs brutal rhythm. 'Hell Spawn' continues the brutal thrash assault as it stomps majestically through some sparkling riffs and melodies. Just after two songs, it is obvious that Scared To Death have been heavily influenced by the late eighties thrash metal evolution that was spearheaded by legendary bands Slayer and Kreator.

'Successor' is a brutal, chugging stomp that will have the mosh pit jumping and head banging in frenetic fashion. Stand out song on the album is 'Trail Of Death', opening with a classic NWOBHM guitar riff before racing off at top speed with a superb vocal performance and some blistering guitar work. Combining pace and power, this is a catchy thrash metal song and the nearest this album gets to traditional heavy metal. 'Manic Mullah' swings the albums direction back towards thrash metal in emphatic fashion. This is one of the most brutal and raw songs on the album.

'Crew Of Vengeance' is thunderous, anthemic and has a chorus that must be a chant favourite in a live arena - "we, we are, the crew of vengeance". Title song 'Fatal Destroyer' storms in at over six minutes long and is packed with dynamic time changes and blistering guitar solos.

'United By Chaos' is a thunderous Kreator sounding song that rattles the senses before 'Battered' stomps in at a slower pace but remains as brutal as anything already heard on the album. Bringing this superb album to a close is the rampant 'Progress Denied'. This is a foot stomping mix of thunderous drumming and sparkling guitar riffs.

Overall, a superb album full of brutal, thunderous and melodic thrash metal that will appeal to all fans of Slayer and Kreator.
