God, Gold And Glory |

Salvacion are a heavy metal band from the USA formed in 2009 by drummer Carlos Denogean and guitarist Nicholas Sponsel, releasing their debut album in 2010 and the follow up a year later. 2014 sees the release of their third album album 'God, Gold & Glory', a concept album inspired by Hernan Cortes and the conquest of Mexico.
Opening the album is the bombastic power metal of 'Fortune', displaying a sound not too dissimilar to the likes of legendary bands Running Wild, Scanner and Helloween. 'Obsidian Knife' gallops in and races through to a conclusion with some great guitar work while 'Stroke Of Luck' is a thunderous slab of solid hard rock.
'Gambler's Throw' is a guitar driven foot stomping Judas Priest style song and upping the tempo is the epic speed metal 'Satan Shame And Steel' with some awesome screaming guitar solos and a fine vocal performance. 'Savage Reprisal' is a mid tempo very heavy chugging hard rock song and the album closes with the thunderous 'Way More Unstoppable'.
Overall, a good album of power and speed metal, some great guitar work and a fine vocal performance.
