Roadhog are a heavy metal & hard rock band from Poland formed in 2012 and who released their debut album in early 2015.
Big riffs, thunderous drums and powerful vocals are all traits of European power metal and 'Dreamstealer' has these in abundance. Opening song 'Liar' is up tempo and catchy, reminiscent of the mid eighties power/speed metal movement spearheaded by bands such as Helloween and Running Wild. 'On The Witches Path' slows the pace to a mid tempo, foot stomping chug, while the title song 'Dreamstealer' rumbles along with big riffs, memorable hooks and a relentless stomp.
Pace returns with the excellent, rollicking 'Chasing The Storm'. Head bangers will delight in this speed metal romp, fists raised high and air guitars swinging around and around. 'Poison Man' owes more of its sound to the glam metal genre made famous by legendary bands such as Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt and Europe. 'Poison Man' is a sparkling slice of hard rock. Chopping guitars introduces 'Taste Your Sin' as it rampages like a bull in a china shop with an anthemic, infectious chorus to keep the crowd happy.
Self titled song 'Roadhog' ups the tempo once more and is rampant speed metal with razor sharp riffing, pounding drums and as has been proved all across the album, powerful vocals. 'Run From The Devil' is a bombastic blast of catchy and infectious power metal that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, all the while your feet are tapping in admiration. 'Dead Of The Night' ends the album with a barn storming thump of melodic hard rock. Catchy riffs and a chorus to die for, 'Dead Of The Night' is as near as the album comes to party metal, the kind of song to not only get the party started but to inject life into it, in much the same way as 'Crazy Nights' (by Kiss) did back in the late eighties.
Overall, rampant and relentless power metal infused with speed metal to produce an infectious and catchy array of songs.
