Resist Control |

Regicide are a thrash metal band from the UK formed in 2020, releasing their debut E.P. 'Burnt Eyes' in 2022, and debut full length album 'Resist Control' in 2024.
Featuring anger and attitude that you'd associate with thrash metal legends Kreator, Exhorder, and Exodus, rising British thrashers Regicide serve up a thirty nine minute barrage of savagery - the bands new album featuring nine songs full of weighty aggression! Every song on offer will crush ya like a beer can, leaving you flattened, destroyed and totally bent outta shape! But what a rush though - the unrelenting thrash on offer will decimate landscapes, remodel towns and cities, and wreak havoc on the neck muscles of every head banger in the world! So brace yourselves readers and listeners alike, this is gonna be one helluva battering! The album cruises into sight with the one minute intro 'Intro'...
...setting a war zone scenario of impending destruction, ready for the band to menacingly march in and shred the place to fucking pieces! The mid paced stomping groove metaller 'One By One' sizzles with energy and metalcore style vocals, the bands thrash metal roots shining through as hot as the midday sun! And from mid paced to fast paced with an electrifying turn of speed, 'You Ain't Nobody' roars off with increased head bang ability and aggression, Regicide terrorising every listener with a savage barrage of intense thrash. The opening two songs have shown opposing sides of the thrash metal genre, the band swinging from one side to the other, settling down right in the middle for 'Supression'. The bands groove metal leanings come to the fore once more, 'Supression' a blunt and highly in your face offering that's easily gonna knock you into next fucking week!
What a menacing, aggressive and brutal start - just what the doctor ordered! This is the type of thrash that I thrive on, 'Resist Control' marching on with an increased level of thunder courtesy of the title song 'Resist Control'. The intensity level since the album began has been top notch, as has the head bang ability, but right here right now 'Resist Control' (the song) has passages of blistering speed that takes intensity and head bang ability to a whole new level - Regicide delivering a pace changing tempo changing aggression fuelled brand of thrash! And with a "I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else right now" mentality, I'm loving the bands first full length album - an album that roars on at full tilt with the devastatingly quick 'Disposable Crown'. Changing down a gear or two as it gets going, 'Disposable Crown' is a ferociously fierce thunder stomping groove metaller guaranteed to get the blood pumping and adrenalin flowing. And with no let up in sight from the bands uncompromising thrash metal onslaught, Regicide stride on with the fearsome 'Dying To Be Liked' - and a snarling vocal performance that eclipses any of the performances heard so far! And if I tried singing like that - and I can't - I'd lacerate my throat within a couple o' seconds!
The harsh, brash nature of the thrash on show is spectacular, the British thrashers turning heads with their debut album. An album that's not over yet - there's still two more songs remaining! The first of which 'Unified Strength', takes a wander through melodic thrash metal territory, the band maintaining their incredible tour through every nook and cranny of the thrash metal genre - there's definitely a style of thrash to be found here to satisfy every thrasher on the planet! And as the (albums) final song comes round the corner, 'Resist Control' (the album) has been one helluva head bangingly addictive listen - 'Run Your Mouth' ending the album as it began, mid paced groove metal with sizzling energy and metalcore style vocals. What a rush the last thirty nine minutes have been - time to press replay and go again!
Overall, a bone crunching skull crushing rampage of brutal thrash, 'Resist Control' is loaded with menace, aggression and head bang ability.
