Doctrine Of Misanthropy |
||||||
Prayers Of Sanity are a thrash metal band from Portugal formed in 2007 releasing their debut album 'Religion Blindness' two years later in 2009. The bands follow up album 'Confrontations' was released in 2012, with third album, 'Face Of The Unknown', a 2017 release...
...and in 2021, the hurricane fuelled tsunami of thrash are back - and are more ferocious, more fiery, and more furious than ever before! Eight songs scorch by in a little under forty minutes, with title song 'Doctrine Of Misanthropy' steaming in at high velocity and racing on with a barrage of savagery that's gonna severely batter and bruise ya! The Portuguese thrashers are back - and mean business. The vocals spit deadly venom as 'Doctrine Of Misanthropy' (the song) brutally wages war on the senses. And no sense is safe either, the aural assault marching forth with blistering speed, courtesy of 'Sons Of Royal Blood'. Mosh pits are gonna be in a frenzied state of euphoria, such is the glorious force of the bands fourth album. Prayers Of Sanity have hit the ground running, with the opening double shot a devastating barrage of brutal thrash.
And the brutal thrash shows no sign of letting up either - 'Hide Your Hate' a teeth crunching, bone snapping, skull crushing, masterpiece of aggressive and in your face thrash. Prayers Of Sanity are the monster offspring of a lab experiment to mix the DNA's of Slayer, Kreator, Megadeth, Exodus, and all the other great thrash metal bands. What a phenomenal abomination! The scorching pace actually gets faster, with 'Abomination' unleashing a fury more furious than heavyweight boxing world champion Mike Tyson during his eighties/nineties prime. The scything rasp of the bands singer cuts a savage sway through the air, decimating buildings and leaving only desolation. This is simply breath taking stuff from the Portuguese outfit. 'V' is a short instrumental, mellow enough to give you a short breather...
...for the band to wind up and shatter the serenity of the last minute. 'We Are Built To Suffer' is a hard hitting, harder kicking barrage of savagery. Pace, speed, brutality and aggression are rife, as 'We Are Built To Suffer' offers no remorse from the blatant bludgeoning of the bands new album. And with the album still showing no sign of letting up, 'Path Of Sin' thunders in and storms off at an extremely high speed. The head banging maniacs of the world are gonna love this, not just 'Path Of Sin' but the entire album! Prayers Of Sanity have created a workout to test neck muscle flexibility under extreme conditions...and what a workout it has been! But just like a workout, it has to end - and so does this album. The final hurrah is another fast and furious barrage of savagery that is gonna take us all to hell... 'Destination Hell', although, it does have an eerie intro along the lines of 'South Of Heaven' - the Slayer classic from 1988. The scorching pace of 'Destination Hell' is incredible, as has been the pace of the entire album, A brutal listen, Prayers Of Sanity have delivered a savage beating.
Overall, a breath taking rampage of aggressive and in your face thrash metal, battering the senses with a high level of brutality.
