Disobey E.P. |
||||||
Poisoner are a thrash metal band from Denmark formed in 2011 who released their debut E.P. 'Disobey' in 2015.
With influences going as far back as the late eighties thrash metal explosion, Poisoner have developed a razor sharp, buzz saw rasp of a sound that is relentless in it's pace, power and rawness. The opening song off the E.P. 'Catastrophic Death' opens with a chugging riff guaranteed to make you stomp your feet and nod your head in appreciation. A raspy, growled vocal style and chugging guitars reminds me of thrash legends Kreator and Swiss metallers Celtic Frost.
'Ferocious Potentate' picks up the pace and races off at break neck speed, which will send the mosh pit crazy. The song has Anthrax sounding break downs and the buzz saw guitar sound just slices straight through you, especially when the screeching guitar solo kicks in. 'Ferocious Potentate' is a definite highlight. 'Disobey The Force' is ferocious and raucous in its delivery, shifting pace many times, with rampant guitar work too.
Ending the E.P. is 'Poisoner', a raging, attitude laden song full of fierce vocals and chopping guitars. With blistering guitars and thunderous drums 'Poisoner' flashes by at a breath taking pace. A storming end to a storming debut release.
Overall, thrash metal is alive and doing very well in the form of Poisoner, with a buzz saw guitar style and rasping growled vocals.
