Pilsen Drinkers are a thrash metal band from Chile formed in 2004 by Diego Parra (vocals and guitar) and Rodrigo Guttierrez (drums). The band released the E.P. 'Controlado Por El Odio' in 2007 and began recording their debut full length album in 2016. 'Join The Brotherhood' was released in 2017.

Imagine what the offspring from a Testament and Slayer encounter would sound like...and you're not far off what Chilean thrashers Pilsen Drinkers sound like. Opening their debut album with the savagely heavy 'Digital Human Control' reminiscent of the mid to late eighties Slayer sound, Pilsen Drinkers offer up some cracking old school thrash metal. Picking up the pace halfway in, 'Digital Human Control' sways from out and out speed thrash to mid tempo foot stomp. Pace and power flow in abundance as 'Slaughter By Order' storms in and scorches a blistering trail as it flies by. Devastatingly heavy and full on, 'Slaughter By Order' is rough and tough with a head bangingly infectious rhythm. Time to warm up your neck muscles as the album begins to display violent head banging tendencies...exactly what the albums title song offers. 'Join The Brotherhood' is an anthemic slab of infectious thrash metal with a chant style chorus that will have everyone shouting "join the brotherhood" at the tops of their voices. The pace of 'Join The Brotherhood' is electrifying, with Pilsen Drinkers delivering a pulsating and addictive romp.

Recently new to the thrash metal genre, Pilsen Drinkers have taken on board everything that was created during the late eighties thrash metal evolution. For fans of the old school sound, this album is a must have. 'One Last Time' brings a touch of the melodic to the album before picking up tempo and flying off at high speed. Fierce and ferocious, 'One Last Time' is classic sounding old school thrash metal. Get your neck muscles moving and bang your head back and forth with a purpose as Pilsen Drinkers deliver opportunity after opportunity for head banging. Pace and energy levels rise high as 'Pyrokinesis' takes flight and is a thunderously savage barrage. The influence of bands such as Testament, Slayer and Destruction is clearly evident, with Pilsen Drinkers taking the baton of thrash metal and running wild with it. 'Prophets Of Chaos' is a thunderous instrumental, showcasing the bands prowess as musicians. Swinging and swaying, 'Prophets Of Chaos' will hold your attention as it meanders on its way.

The final three songs on offer are all sung in Spanish. This doesn't affect the Pilsen Drinkers signature sound or their ability to deliver great thrash metal, all it affects is my ability to sing along as I don't know Spanish... 'Asesinato En El Pit' (translation is 'Murder In The Pit') is a fast paced, guitar driven slice of brutal thrash metal. The fastest song on the album by a mile, 'Asesinato En El Pit' will invoke some ferocious head banging. 'Perros De Batalia' (translation is 'Battle Dogs') is a furious flurry of riffs. More in your face than anything else on the album, 'Perros De Batalia' continues the thrash metal aural assault with fervour. Bringing the album to an end is 'Undestino Bajo Tierra' (translation is 'Destination Under The Ground'). Savagely heavy, 'Undestino Bajo Tierra' turns in a very Slayer like performance as it brutally slashes its way through the airways to the delight of all the old school thrash metal fans around the world.

Overall, an album of old school thrash metal, delivered with high amounts of energy and intensity, Pilsen Drinkers are new thrashers on the block and a band to look out for.
