Defrauded Reign |

Omicida are a thrash metal band from the UK formed in 2014 by ex White Wizzard drummer Giovanni Durst. Throughout the bands formative stage, there were a number of line-up changes, the band released three singles between 2015 and 2017, culminating in the release of their first full length offering 'Defrauded Reign' in 2019.
Brash, blunt, aggressive and in your face, Omicida deliver forty minutes of furious thrash metal across eleven songs. Launching their debut full length offering, 'Hostage In The Pit' hits the ground running, echoing the raw feel of (early) Slayer. Thundering at full tilt, 'Hostage In The Pit' is aggressive and fast, two of the important ingredients needed to make great thrash metal. 'Violent Resolution' turns up the heat and rockets along at high velocity, in your face and full of attitude. The blistering pace of 'Violent Resolution' will have heads banging vigorously wherever it is heard. Vigorous head banging that won't relent either, as 'Shot At Point Blank' runs amok, wreaking havoc and devastation as it scorches along at break neck speed. Omicida are delivering a cracking thrash metal experience, mixing all the elements of the American and German thrash metal sounds to great effect.
Blistering pace is replaced by mid tempo foot stomping as 'Protect And Serve' marches boldly on by. Heaviness surrounds 'Protect And Serve' like a snake surrounds its victim, both placing a huge amount of pressure on the senses with brute force. 'Protect And Serve' ramps up the pace, becoming a blistering and brutal speedy romp as it plays out. 'Divine Uncertainty' is all mellow and dreamy as it comes to life, buzzing guitar riffage soon taking over, becoming a terrifying tension filled atmospheric and scary romp. One of the fastest songs on offer, 'State Of Terror' is a savage barrage of aggressive thrash metal, Slayer-like in its delivery. 'Burn The Cross' is a haunting, one minute effects laden instrumental that builds to a terrifying tension, giving way to the equally haunting feel of 'Sentenced'. More heavy metal than thrash metal, 'Sentenced' is scary and will send a chill down your spine.
With three songs left to go, the debut album from Omicida is hard hitting and fast paced, with plenty to keep the head bangers of the world happily banging their heads for a long time to come. The bands electrifying pace rises to the surface once more as 'The Supremacist' steams in and rockets on at high velocity. For the first time on the album, the buzz guitar sound of the NWOBHM shows itself during the opening riffage to 'Unborn'. Quickly becoming a highly energetic and fast paced romp, 'Unborn' is aggression fuelled thrash metal. In almost no time, the album is heading for the final song and you just wonder where the last forty minutes went...a sign of an albums addiction when you lose track of time. 'Dead Eyes See No Evil' brings the curtain down on a savage thrash metal journey. 'Dead Eyes See No Evil' is high speed, high velocity thrash that will invoke violent head banging from fans all around the world.
Overall, fast paced thrash, raw and aggressive, Omicida deliver a blistering forty minutes of head bangingly infectious thrash metal.
